Have a classic Southern dinner item on your table in about 35 minutes with this Country Fried Steak With Milk Gravy recipe–without straining yourself or breaking the bank! The milk gravy goes nicely over mashed potatoes (or whatever side you choose that normally comes with gravy).

This recipe is rather close to the way that Mother often cooked what she called “minute steaks.” It’s a great option for midweek dinners, especially when you’re on a budget, as you can have the dish ready in a little over half an hour, and cube steaks aren’t all that expensive, either. And the sides most commonly paired with it are rather easy and inexpensive to put together, as well. It’s good flavor for the time and the money.

If you love Nutella and chocolate, you have found the right recipe for dessert!  This Nutella Chocolate Cheesecake brings the rich flavor with an Oreo crust, Nutella and Ferrero Rocher ganache, and an easy cocoa- and Nutella-based filling that doesn’t even require any baking.

When the Nutella craze first hit the scene, I was slow to accept it. I usually want to make sure that it’s more than just a fad before I dive in. Though I probably couldn’t eat a whole jar in one sitting more or less by itself, the way that some Nutella die-hards can, I do have to admit that it is a tasty treat. That hazelnut flavor goes nicely in many desserts. It combines beautifully with chocolate here to make a no-bake cheesecake that is over-the-top delicious.

This Butternut Squash & Creamed Spinach Casserole has the rich and filling flavor that make it perfectly suited for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners, but give it a try, and you may find yourself making it for regular meals.  This recipe makes 8-10 servings, meaning you’ll have plenty of yummy leftovers if you cook it for a family meal.

Casseroles are usually not too difficult to put together, and they can be very satisfying and filling. The trick is having a variety of recipes at your disposal, so you don’t wind up making the same one or two all the time.  If you don’t really care for cheese, this recipe probably isn’t for you, but if you do, this butternut squash and creamed spinach casserole is a good option for breaking out of that food rut–and makes a great part of any Thanksgiving or Christmas meal.

Be Sure to Have Your Sweet Tooth Ready For This – WOW!

These Cheesecake Rolo Bars are loaded with chocolate and caramel flavor and make for a delicious, decadent, multi-textured dessert that doesn’t require professional-level baking skills. I know that cheesecakes can be really rich, but they’re surprisingly simple to put together, and they offer a really versatile platform for whatever dessert flavor that you have in mind. If you ever enjoyed munching on Rolos or just happen to be a lover of chocolate and caramel like myself, you will gobble up these cheesecake Rolo bars!

Actual baking time is only about 45 minutes, and with no intense mixing involved (or even any baking equipment beyond the pan and some spoons and measuring cups), the most difficult part will be waiting for the dessert to chill overnight.

I enjoyed eating Rolos when I was young but thought that they might be even better with a little crunch. This super delicious recipe from Hugs and Cookies XOXO gives them that crunch and some yummy creaminess to boot. I’m so glad I came across this one!

Meet the beautiful and so lovely Pineapple Upside Down Cupcake!  It has all of the sweet, fruity deliciousness of that classic, full-sized Southern cake, only in more convenient, individual servings. And though it is easy enough to bake for an everyday family treat, it will also be well received at most any gathering.

I remember eating plenty of pineapple upside down cake as a child when I would visit Grandmother in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.  It’s so easy to make, even though you’re technically baking a cake from scratch, and it has a flavor loved by people young and old (and in between) alike.  She never made it into cupcakes, though.  It is such a clever idea and it brings a touch of fresh air to this classic, yet delicious recipe.

This Baked Potato and Bacon Soup is another one of those easy to prepare creations that is rather fancy-looking (and rich-tasting), enough so that it will do nicely at most any gathering. Yet, it is perfect as part of a hectic weeknight dinner.  It’s a low-hassle dish that comfort-food dreams are made of.

I don’t know about you, but after a harried holiday, even one like Labor Day, I tumble into the following week feeling that I need a vacation from the vacation.  It’s not that I’m on death’s door or anything, just a bit worn out and crabby and sore enough that I don’t feel like doing much more than what is absolutely necessary to do right away.  Surely I’m not the only one?  Well, this soup is good for times like that.  With a little advance prep, you can take this soup from necessary ingredients to fully cooked in, oh, 15 minutes, absolute tops–really more like 10 minutes.  And by advance prep, no, I don’t mean any elaborate chopping or fancy pre-cooking; there’s none of that here.  Just fry some bacon and throw some potatoes in the oven for a while, and you’ll be good to go.  That’s not so hard, is it?

This simple apple cinnamon cake is anything but that! With a moist inside that is gluten free, and a crispy crust that makes you go for “one more bite”, this hassle-free cake is simply delicious. It is the perfect pair for your coffee or tea. It’s also not only great at breakfast time, but as an after dinner treat too!

The surprising thing about this beautiful apple cake is that there is no sugar in the recipe! You heard me – none! The sweetness comes from pure maple syrup, but if you can’t find that, you could use honey instead. This is such a great, not overly sweet dessert – but if you want more sweetness you could simply serve this with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, or some white sugar frosting drizzled on top!
