Did I ever tell you about my granny’s famous cake recipe? Welp, settle in folks because you’re about to hear it.

My granny was an avid baker. In fact, she was just an all-around excellent cook. I don’t ever remember a time when I was at my grandma’s house that she didn’t have something sweet or savory in the oven. One of my fondest memories of grandma was her teaching me how to make granny cake.

If you haven’t experienced the glory of this cake yet, well, by golly, you are missing out! Granny cake is ooey, gooey, and just plain old delicious. I like this recipe for more reasons than one but the main would be that it is very easy to make.

Pretty much everyone LOVES this cake! Has the thought of making granny cake ran through your mind yet? If so, click on over to the next page and delight yourself in the recipe and how-to video!

This will be one of the most unique cakes you’ll ever make.

I’ve experimented with plenty of strange flavor combinations in my day. Some of these combos tasted great while others completed bombed. I’m happy to report that this cake recipe is not a bomber at all!

Do you know what this cake has in it? Broccoli. Stay with me, now! I know you must be thinking how gross that sounds but I assure you that this cake turns out great. Plus, it’s covered in pumpkin-vanilla frosting. Yum!

If you’d like to surprise everyone at Thanksgiving dinner with an amazing dessert that will surely knock their socks off then this is the recipe for you. I wouldn’t tell anyone what is in the cake until they actually try it. You don’t want any pre-conceived notions running through their heads about the broccoli. This cake is truly a hit. You’ll see!

Have you ever wanted to really wow your friends and family with your baking skills?

I know that I personally can make a real mean cake but the problem is, the presentation can be slightly boring. So, when I came across this very easy gingerbread cake, I got excited! I mean, just look at it. Isn’t it pretty? I opted to use the sparkling cranberries and mint leaf because they added a touch of class to this amazing baked good. I think this delicious gingerbread cake will look pretty darn classy sitting on my holiday table. Don’t you?

This cake is extra special because it contains pumpkin and gingerbread together. You get the best of both worlds! Plus, the spiced cream cheese frost is uh-mazing. I can’t even praise it enough!

Good morning, everyone! Well, for some of you around the world it might be the afternoon or nighttime.

Where is everyone from? I’ve always wondered that! It would be great if you could leave where you are from in the comments. As you all know, I am a Michigan native who moved to Pennsylvania. I have discovered that my Michigander cooking style is quite different from the Appalachian lovers. Lots of great recipes here on the Mason-Dixon Line 🙂

Anyway, today we are making a southern favorite called pecan bread. This bread reminds me of the classic pie but without the crust. It’s moist, flavorful, and made with love. We had a church potluck last Sunday and this was the dessert that I took to pass. I swear I think the bread was gone in two shakes of a lamb’s tail. People loved the stuff! You’ll find that pecan bread is very easy to make, too. Enjoy!

Last month we were in New York City. It was my husband’s fifth time in the city, but it was my first. We went to the city with both of my sisters who had been there once before as well. Since everyone I was going with had seen the city before, they had their ideas about what they wanted to do and where we should eat. As we found more and more delicious places to eat, we had a hard time narrowing it down.

Finally, we found a restaurant that served the warm food we needed. It had grilled cheese and tomato soup and lots of coffee. When we were done eating all of that (oh, and some amazing parmesan coated tater tots!), we decided we wanted dessert. They had only one on the menu but we figured we would go with it. It was a Reese’s cake. It was a vanilla and chocolate swirled cake that had chunks of Reese’s spread throughout. I was hesitant at first because I was not so sure I would really enjoy it, but gosh it was good.

I love this Blueberry Glaze Olive Oil Cake! It’s not like any other cake I’ve made before. That blueberry glaze topping just looks so incredibly beautiful that you almost don’t want to ruin it by cutting yourself a slice… I love any kind of cheese but this cake is paired with ricotta, which makes it so creamy and tasty. The dark chocolate evens out the taste and the avocado makes the color so amazing!

This recipe just makes the world seem so perfect. Now, I don’t want to ruin the beautiful image but the cake was gone in a matter of minutes! I served it at a family gathering and it sure didn’t last long. I was planning on taking the leftovers with me but, there were none! One of my family members did manage to grab a slice to take home – I wish I had been as clever!

One day, my sisters and I were pretty bored. In our family, boredom leads to hunger (is that just us?!). We wanted something yummy to eat, but truthfully there was nothing. We were excited to try something new but didn’t just want a new chocolate cake recipe. We wanted something really new. Something different. Something we had never heard of. That is when, after lots of Pinterest searching, we found the “do nothing cake.” It is literally just that. A cake that looks wondrous but doesn’t consist of much work at all! This cake was fun to make and even more fun to enjoy!

What in the world is this cake? I don’t even know how to explain it to you because it’s name is so ambiguous. It is light and airy and fluffy and yet creamy and moist. You barely have to prep it or do anything to get it to achieve that perfect cake consistency. Yet at the end, you have an elaborate, beautiful cake full of flavor and it makes you look like an awesome baker. Just don’t go telling anyone about the “do nothing” part in it and you will be deemed the next great baker in America!
