    Chili is always a great option if you want a hearty, filling one-pot meal that makes an ample amount of servings. This Delicious Homemade Chili recipe makes use of a few clever twists on the classic dish to make it a bit leaner while still giving you plenty of that rich, savory Tex-Mex flavor.

     

    Now that we can officially say the summer is gone and fall has arrived, it is again that time of year when I start thinking about making a good pot of chili again. It’s a really filling one-pot recipe (comfort food for me) that’s great for family meals and for parties. I believe that some form of chili is cooked at the tailgate I go to at least once per season. And every single person I’ve served this chili has loved it as much as I do!

    Have a savory, Mexican-style sandwich with slow-cooked pork for your next party or tailgate!  This Pulled Pork Cemita recipe is a nice twist on traditional pulled pork; make them with full-sized buns as a full sandwich, or use smaller buns to make them into bite-sized sliders.

     

    The wonderful tailgate group that I am a part of often has all sorts of elaborate things to serve all of the hungry eaters that pass through, but as a warm-up, they’ll often have some small sandwiches or “sliders” to go with the basic snack food.  This pulled pork cemita recipe is great for that–and hey, after having fried salami, turkey and mayo, or something very basic like that for a while, you have a hankering for something a little different.  This will give your next barbecue, tailgate, or football party a little Mexican flair, and thanks to the convenience of the Crock-Pot (or whatever slow cooker you prefer), it’s not all that difficult to put together.

    Cheaper Than Most Takeout Options – And Much Better Than at a Buffet!

    Make a classic Chinese appetizer in the comfort of your own home!  Thanks to pre-made egg roll wrappers (and a bit of a cornstarch mixture, to help the ends stay together), it’s not all that difficult or time-consuming to make these Homemade Chicken Egg Rolls on your own. I still usually wind up getting them, anyway, when I go, but the egg rolls that you get at the cheaper Chinese buffets are just a shadow of what they could be. The frozen ones from the grocery store cost an awful lot, compared to what you get out of them, and let’s face it: Not all of us can afford to go to a really fancy Chinese restaurant whenever we want.

    Thankfully, it is not too difficult to make very delicious ones at home. This recipe makes enough for about a dozen people to eat two good-sized egg rolls each, so it is a nice idea for a party or tailgate.

    So long as you have a means of keeping them warm, but I imagine that you could reduce the recipe to make it suitable for a small family pre-dinner snack, if you prefer.  Of course, if you are like me, once you have had one, you’ll want one or two more, easily.

    Just how much incredible tastiness can you pack into bite-sized treats?  This Chorizo Potato Bites recipe certainly pushes it to the delightful limit.  Serve them as a side, as an unbelievable snack, or as part of a tailgate spread that everyone will love.  And they are so easy and quick to put together – just the kind of recipe that will immediately become anyone’s new favorite!

     

    I have had quite a few varieties of sausage in my time–and quite a few dishes with sausage in them.  Hell, I grew up in the Deep South, and a very good friend of mine actually makes a living MAKING sausage.  Somehow, with all of that, I had missed out on chorizo.  I was VERY happy to have addressed that error by making a bunch of these.  They are so tasty!

    It can be really difficult to put together a salad that is tasty and also very healthy.  This Creamy Broccoli & Bacon Salad recipe allows you to do so with ease.  There is no store-bought dressing in this recipe, but it is a cinch to put together.  You won’t believe that something with bacon in it is this healthy–or that something so delicious and healthy is so easy to put together!

     

    I enjoy a nice salad, but sometimes, all of the chopping and other prep involved can be a bit taxing.  And after going through all of that, I often don’t really feel up to making my own dressing for it.  Needless to say, most of the usual store-bought options aren’t exactly all that healthy, and that kind of defeats the point of having a salad in the first place.  This recipe solves those problems very nicely.

    I Had to Slap Myself to Keep From Eating a Whole Plate of These

    These Southern Beer-Battered Onion Rings are all kinds of deep-fried delicious!  They make for a great at-home snack. Deep-fried food may not be the healthiest in the world, to say the least, but it is hard to beat that rich, savory flavor.

    All that Savory and Creamy Philly Flavor in Dip Form–Yum!

    Love steak?  Love cheese?  Then you’ll love this Philly Cheese Steak Dip!  It has all of the great flavors of the classic original dish in convenient appetizer form.  I certainly can’t get enough of steak and cheese so this recipe is the perfect way to combine two of my very favorites. And it’s not nearly as difficult as you’d think!

     

    I think that I have had some variant of the Philly cheese steak far more often than I have ever had the original dish.  It is great as part of a sub or other heavy sandwich.  It is great on pizza, too–great on a lot of things, really.  This recipe serves it up in extra-creamy dip form.  I loved how it came out, and so have my family and friends! I’ve been asked for this recipe so many times that I decided to print some out to have them at hand the next time someone asks for it!
