I’m not going to lie, I completely depend on my slow cooker to get me through the week no matter what season it is. With a recipe like this pulled pork you won’t get any complaints from your family about serving leftovers. There are so many ways to serve this dish that it’s become a staple in our home just like bread, milk and eggs! We have it plain the first night with some traditional BBQ sides, then on buns for lunches, and to really switch it up sometimes I put the meat in tacos.

Red wine vinegar, honey and garlic are the classic flavors used in the Carolinas, and the reason people travel from all over to get a taste of their BBQ. I’m telling you, this meat needs no extra sauce. So keep the Sweet Baby Ray’s in the refrigerator and save it for something bland. This meat comes out dripping in savory sweet juices and tempts your taste buds through every meal.

Slow-cooker recipes are the best for all of us, who tend to get so busy with work, kids and life in general that we barely have a moment to order take-out.

No need to worry about that anymore, because with slow cookers, you can set-it and forget-it, until it’s time to dig into the decadence. This dripping dish of goodness is easy yet delicious. Although easy to make, this does need to cook very slowly for at least half a day. That makes this the perfect recipe for those days when you have to leave early and you know you’ll come home exhausted. The sweet onions, will only serve to complement the spicy kick of the BBQ sauce.

These would make a great alternative to a classic burger, and you can spice the dish up even more, if that’s what you prefer. One batch may not be enough, since everyone is going to want to have seconds! And be careful where you store the leftovers (if there are any) – I have noticed they can magically disappear from the fridge during the night!

Don’t Try Making Pork Without Doing It This Way First!

Have a savory, Mexican-style sandwich with slow-cooked pork for your next party or tailgate!  This Pulled Pork Cemita recipe is a nice twist on traditional pulled pork; make them with full-sized buns as a full sandwich, or use smaller buns to make them into bite-sized sliders.

The wonderful tailgate group that I am a part of often has all sorts of elaborate things to serve all of the hungry eaters that pass through, but as a warm-up, they’ll often have some small sandwiches or “sliders” to go with the basic snack food.  This pulled pork cemita recipe is great for that–and hey, after having fried salami, turkey and mayo, or something very basic like that for a while, you have a hankering for something a little different.  This will give your next barbecue, tailgate, or football party a little Mexican flair, and thanks to the convenience of the Crock-Pot (or whatever slow cooker you prefer), it’s not all that difficult to put together.

Make Tasty, Easy Nachos–Without Going Nuclear!

You won’t find any bright orange pseudo-cheese or microwave instructions here. Use your favorite slow cooker (I use a Crock-Pot) to whip up a much tastier alternative: Cuban Nachos With White Cheese Sauce. It’s like a pulled pork sandwich in nacho form!

It really is a shame that most people in the United States only think of Mexican and Tex-Mex when they hear the phrase “Latin American food.”  Not that there aren’t plenty of fabulous Mexican and Tex-Mex recipes out there–we at Tastee Recipe have shared plenty with you in our time.  But if that is ALL that you think Latin America has to offer, you’re really missing out!  I was fortunate enough to grow up in an area just close enough to other parts of the Latin world (I spent most of my formative years on the Gulf Coast) to know better, but even I fall into that trap, sometimes, since so many dine-out options where I live now ARE Mexican or Tex-Mex places.  I really was happy to come across this reminder that, hey, the rest of Latin America has some really great flavors, too!

It was also nice to see a nacho recipe that called for pork instead of beef.  Hey, I love those beef nachos, too, but they can be more than a bit greasy, sometimes, not to mention making the nachos feel a bit heavy in your stomach.  “The other white meat” is a nice, lower-fat, lower-grease alternative.  And trust me, with the savory assortment of spices in this recipe, and that delicious homemade white cheese sauce, you don’t need that extra fat to feel very satisfied.

These chorizo spiced pulled pork sandwiches are something special indeed! I love pulled pork sandwiches. The contrast of the smoky pork with the tang and sweetness of the slaw – really, it has my mouth watering just talking about it!

But this chorizo spiced pulled pork is really something special. The street corn slaw is just the cherry on top of a well spiced pork shoulder. And although it is not a difficult to perform recipe there is a rather long list of ingredients.

This recipe makes a lot of sandwiches and they are just as good re-heated. That’s something you’ll be greatful for the next day, as these will make a delicious lunch!
