Trust Me When I Tell You, This Is Nacho Ordinary Appetizer!

Some of you may think I’m exaggerating when I’m talking about holy trinity and nachos in the same sentence. But I honestly think that you can never go wrong when your recipe includes these three sacred ingredients; bacon, barbecue sauce and cheddar. Seriously – doesn’t that immediately make you think of game nights, spending time with friends and family, having a cold one and enjoying super tasty appetizers?

Although I have to say I’ve made these incredible BBQ nachos for dinner, too! My kids love’m so much that they vanish within minutes of taking them out of the oven. I’m not surprised! Amazingly crunchy, with all that wonderful cheese and – of couse, bacon!

I am dying to make these again this weekend and add some diced jalapenos. If you’re making these for a larger group, you could add jalapenos to the other half of the batch and leave the other half without, so that people can choose for themselves.

This casserole makes life extra easy for you.

As a mother and as a wife who is balancing household work, taking care of the kids, and professional work, it’s really difficult to keep track of things at times. Even if you put several reminders right in front of your eyes, you still get a bit distracted. Thank goodness for casseroles and we mothers have a bit of a saving grace. They are easy to make and super easy to monitor even. Imagine, all you have to do is arrange everything in a casserole dish and place it in the oven.

It does well by itself. And we moms have more time to devote to our children and our other tasks. And one great thing about casserole dishes is that you’re not compromising the quality of the food. Just like this Mexican casserole dish recipe. It’s pretty easy to put together. All those goodness in one dish are just too good to resist!

When I made this particular dish for my family, they couldn’t even say anything. But the look on their faces told me how much they loved it. It’s another point for Mom! If you want a copy of this cheesy Mexican casserole recipe, please don’t hesitate to head on over to the next page. Enjoy this tasty dish with your family!

As far as easy comfort food goes, particularly for the cooler months of the year, it’s hard to beat a good, savory soup. This Easy Taco Soup has a hearty flavor to it, and after a bit of prep,  the slow cooker does the rest of the work for you.

After making my second batch of spaghetti meat sauce for the season not too long ago, I was looking for something a little different. (Don’t get me wrong; I love the spaghetti sauce recipe that I adapted from what Mother used to make, but I do like to mix things up, and it would be a shame to get bored with something like that.)  This soup recipe keeps it really easy and low-hassle, and it has some of that Southwestern flavor in which I like to indulge, now and then.

Looking for a simple but tasty (and unique) snack item to serve at your next gathering?  Or maybe you just want something a little different to munch on while watching your favorite shows at home? Well, give this Labor Day Fruit Salsa a try. It’s loaded with great flavor and is a cinch to put together!

It really is amazing what you can do with a fairly simple fruit and herb mixture, sometimes.  Normally, when I think of salsa, I think of the typical tomato, onion, and bell pepper variety, but let me tell you:  This fruit salsa is really delicious as well, and it certainly stands apart from the more typical snack options. Get ready to receive a massive amount of compliments!

Chili is always a great option if you want a hearty, filling one-pot meal that makes an ample amount of servings. This Delicious Homemade Chili recipe makes use of a few clever twists on the classic dish to make it a bit leaner while still giving you plenty of that rich, savory Tex-Mex flavor.

Now that we can officially say the summer is gone and fall has arrived, it is again that time of year when I start thinking about making a good pot of chili again. It’s a really filling one-pot recipe (comfort food for me) that’s great for family meals and for parties. I believe that some form of chili is cooked at the tailgate I go to at least once per season. And every single person I’ve served this chili has loved it as much as I do!

I love slow cooker recipes and here’s another great one!  This Crock-Pot Chicken and Black Bean Soup is great for summer eating but sure to warm you up any time of year. I know I will be making this all the time during the cold and windy fall weeks!

Sometimes, a nice bowl of soup with something simple on the side is just what you need. And sometimes, you just want to be able to dump a bunch of ingredients in a pot and do your own thing for a while.  This was a really nice recipe, with a nice splash of festive color, for enjoying the waning days of summer, particularly on a rumbly day such as this one.
