A Delicious Portable Pocket of Comfort Food!

Originating in England, these pasty’s – or meat pies – eventually came over to the U.S. and settled in Michigan. Now, you can find them in almost every State. A buttery and flaky dough is filled with meat and veggies, making it an excellent lunch or snack to take wherever you go. Make a large batch and freeze them for easy convenience whenever the hunger strike hits. This recipe makes 6 and bakes in under an hour – you’re going to love these!

My kids love Hot Pockets and so does my husband as he often takes them to work. However, these little pockets are filled with nitrates and preservatives. Plus, theya re expensive.

So, why not make a healthier version that costs less in your own kitchen? I don’t know about you guys and gals but I think that idea sounds mighty fine.

I was looking for new and exciting chicken dishes when I accidentally came across this one. I’ll be perfectly honest with you here; my first thought was “what in the world is this?” I haven’t been a big fan of olives but the combination with lemon made me curious. I thought, well, it can’t be that bad and I bought all the ingredients. What I got in return was one of the most delicious chicken dinners I have ever made in my whole life. This recipe went straight to my box of favorites, and it’s not easy to get there!

Bursting with flavor profiles, this dish is not only tender and juicy, but packs a powerful punch of lemon! Throw in some olives and garlic, and you’ve made yourself a meal. This recipe serves 6 and should be set to stew for about 5-6 hours, thus the slow cooker. Serve with a side of healthy veggies, like green beans or corn.
