If you are looking for a creative, gourmet way to cook a bunch of chicken drumsticks, look no further!  This Stewed Chicken With White Wine Cream Sauce has a nice sweet and savory flavor, with just the right amount of creaminess to bring it all together. I was surprised by how easily this came together, since I always worry about having to spend too much time in the kitchen.

When Mother had a bunch of extra drumsticks on hand and didn’t feel like fussing over frying them, she would often stew them, making for really tender chicken with juices that made a nice topping for rice or other sides.  This recipe is essentially a jazzed-up version of that, only with a richer, more gravy-like sauce.  I loved how it turned out.

I Love All of the Textures and Flavors in This Dessert! MMM!

Well, this certainly takes brownies to a whole new level! These Candied Pecan Blondies make generous use of nuts, chocolate, and honey to create a delightful blend of textures and a heavenly rich dessert.

No mixer required, and just about an hour to prep and bake! Though I am willing to put forth the effort if it’s worth it, it’s nice to be able to throw together a yummy dessert in an hour with no mixing or complicated steps.  And as I love chocolate with nuts mixed in, these treats were just perfect for me to try. I’ve made these a couple of times already, and my family is so fond of them I think I’ll have to make them again soon!

These blondies also make the perfect dessert for those times when you’re cooking for a large crowd. We have a big family and I always bring this to our reunions (people would go crazy if I didn’t!), so I am very used to doubling and even tripling the ingredients. I never bring home any – these simply disappear right in front of my eyes!

Have a savory, Mexican-style sandwich with slow-cooked pork for your next party or tailgate!  This Pulled Pork Cemita recipe is a nice twist on traditional pulled pork; make them with full-sized buns as a full sandwich, or use smaller buns to make them into bite-sized sliders.

The wonderful tailgate group that I am a part of often has all sorts of elaborate things to serve all of the hungry eaters that pass through, but as a warm-up, they’ll often have some small sandwiches or “sliders” to go with the basic snack food.  This pulled pork cemita recipe is great for that–and hey, after having fried salami, turkey and mayo, or something very basic like that for a while, you have a hankering for something a little different.  This will give your next barbecue, tailgate, or football party a little Mexican flair, and thanks to the convenience of the Crock-Pot (or whatever slow cooker you prefer), it’s not all that difficult to put together.
