Stop Spending a Fortune On Store-Bought!

Our local outdoors & sports store is going to take a massive financial hit now that I have this awesome recipe for homemade beef jerky!

My husband practically eats beef jerky for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So far he has picked up his favorite brand from that local store of ours, but after I made this the first time he said there’s no going back. I have to admit; I’ve never been that big of a fan of beef jerky but this one was super delicious!

Don’t worry if you don’t have a dehydrator. Yes, it would come in handy when making this, but you can make this in your oven, too! In fact, that’s how I did it and it turned out perfect. I did check on it a few times while cooking, and you should too. Even though you’ll get instructions on the temperature and time, all ovens are a little bit different and you can also adjust the time based on how you like your beef jerky.

Feel free to adjust the seasonings, too, but I would highly recommend trying the recipe as is, first. For us it was perfect!

Do You Remember Enjoying This As A Kid? I Sure Do!

Did you know that the salisbury steak was invented by a 19th century physician, James Salisbury?

I didn’t either, but apparently he believed beef would solve many physical problems, and suggested this steak should be eaten three times a day. Of course, accompanied with plenty of water to cleanse the digestive system. I’m not as certain of the health benefits of this old-fashioned dish, but I do think it’s scrumptious!

I have to admit, though, that this recipe from Bobbi Meyer is pretty healthy (not to mention delicious!) If you’re using lean ground beef and making sure your ketchup is low-sugar, I guess you could have this even if you’re on a diet!

But that’s not why I decided to give Bobbi’s recipe a try. I made it because it looked really easy, super tasty, and because I think she’s pretty awesome, too! Have you seen all those recipes from her? She’s got plenty, and I intend to try them all, one at a time.

When I Made This For My Family, It Disappeared So Fast I Couldn’t Believe It

My grandmother had an amazing talent of creating the most delicious meals out of simple ingredients. I guess it was because she had lived through some hard times when she was young. I swear, if there were four ingredients in the fridge, she was able to make a 3-course meal for five people out of them. Or at least that’s what it seemed like!

There are a few special dishes that I remember her making. One of them was the SOS meal – I think I remember this one because of the funny name. I never found out what the letters stood for, but as a little girl I always imagined it was something people ate when their boat was about to sink. Haha!

These days we have access to the most exotic ingredients and we could make meals our grandparents never even dreamed of, but in my opinion the simplest recipes are always the best ones. My kids are crazy about this recipe, and so am I. Every time I make this, I think of Grandma!

This Festive Meal Won’t Break The Bank But It Will Make You Feel Like A Million Dollars!

If there is a traditional recipe in your holiday menu; one you can’t live without, I would love to hear about it. I enjoy learning more about everyone’s Christmas traditions, just to see how much they differ from mine. And I guess, also, to see if I would get new ideas! Kind of like what happened with this slow-braised beef in wine that I tried last week.

I wasn’t planning on making a completely new dish this year, but about a month ago I found this recipe and it looked so inviting that I had to give it a try. When my husband came home from work and smelled this stew cooking in the oven, he immediately asked what we were going to have for dinner.

The meal turned out even more flavorful than I had imagined, and we decided we were definitely going to serve this over the holidays, when my sister’s family is coming over for a special dinner.

This Classic Recipe Never Goes Out Of Style!

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing great and having fun trying out new recipes! I sure am, and that’s why I decided to introduce you to my latest favorite.

Just recently I came across this wonderful crab cake recipe and I just knew they were going to be a hit! It took me a few days to find the time to make these, and I swear just looking at that picture and thinking about making them, made my mouth water.

I think my husband got a little tired of me going on and on about these crab cakes because one day he said; “Honey, today I’m taking care of everything for you. I’ll do the laundry, walk the dogs and go grocery shopping – so could you please just make those crab cakes before you’ll go crazy?” Haha, bless him! He really did do all those things for me, so I had plenty of time to try making these. Not that I really needed that much extra time for these – 25 minutes was all I needed!

Baked To Perfection, This Dip Will Be The Talk Of Your Next Game Night

I am a huge dip person. Of all types of appetizers, dips are my favorite. Sure, little bacon wrapped potatoes dipped in sour cream are delicious, as well as chopped up brie cheese and apricot jam are delicious wrapped in a puff pastry, but those require so much to enjoy it. You need a plate and napkin and sometimes even a fork to eat those.

A dip is different and much more convenient. With a swoop of your hand, you can have a chip full of dip in your mouth in no time. I just stand by the dip bowl to make it extra easy and more efficient, haha!

I will admit, I am a dip hog. I stand by the dip bowl and almost protect it from other people. If you have made a dip I have never tried, chances are, I want to eat it and eat the whole thing. Let’s just say I was taste testing it to approve it for others. Well, after much contemplation, I found the perfect dip recipe for my next party (and it will definitely be a staple at our game nights).  This one is easy and delicious!

And you know how it is with slow cookers; it seems like whatever you put in there turns into pure magic! The beef chuck roast used in this recipe turns out so tender, you could eat these sandwiches without your dentures!

As a busy, working mom of three kids I often rely on my trusty crock pot when it comes to feeding my family. You have no idea how many times I’ve thanked the heavens for such a brilliant device! I don’t know what people did when there were no crock pots – and I don’t even want to know! All I care about is that I can make a wonderful meal with very little effort.
