It may not be as famous as the Po’Boy, but this New Orleans Muffuletta Sandwich is just as yummy and just as quintessentially Big Easy.  You certainly won’t go hungry munching on this!

I imagine I was a bit spoiled for food choices, living so close to New Orleans for so long.  I took delicious Big Easy-style cuisine, including great sandwiches like the muffuletta, so for granted, it took my moving away for a while to appreciate just how great that it is.  The muffuletta sandwich was actually invented back in the early 20th century by The Central Grocery, located in the famous French Quarter, as a means of feeding VERY hungry Sicilian farmers selling their wares in the French Market.  Since then, this hearty sandwich has become a New Orleans signature dish, and you can have all of that great flavor in the comfort of your own home thanks to this recipe.

How To Make A True Italian Meal For The Whole Family

Those classic tastes of Italy really put you at ease, and the recipes usually make for plenty of leftovers!  This Spaghetti Casserole is no different.  You can have dinner for 16 ready in under an hour and a half with this recipe.

It’s a great idea for potlucks or for baking half and freezing the rest for later. Or if you’re just planning on having one of those huge family dinners, the Italian way! Italian food is great for sharing, and so is a good casserole. This brings both together for a veritable sharing paradise!  Considering how many people you can feed with this recipe, and how good it tastes, you don’t have to expend a massive amount of time or effort putting this dish together, either.

This is one of the dishes everyone always expects me to bring to our family reunions! One year I showed up with a different casserole – and even though no-one said anything, I could tell they really wanted me to bring this one instead!

You’re In For A Delicious Surprise With This Incredible Lasagna!

It may not be traditional, but this Cajun Lasagna may well be the best lasagna that I have ever had!  The five-cheese blend really hits the spot, and a clever choice of meat makes for a nicely balanced flavor that isn’t too grease-heavy.

Every time I look at that photo, it makes me want to bring out my pots and pans to make this immediately! I hadn’t had lasagna in ages when I tried out this recipe, as much as I love it.  Lasagna isn’t exactly known as an easy dish to make.  I am so glad that I took the plunge, though!

This recipe really makes for a cheese-lover’s and pasta-lover’s delight.  You will have to allow for a good chunk of time in the kitchen (it takes about two hours to cook), but if you have that time to spare, I assure you that it is well worth it.

This Italian-American Delight Is So Easy To Cook!

chicken, chicken marsala, crock pot, crock pot meal, Crock-Pot slow cooker, dinner, easy, entree, gastro, home, home recipe, Italian, Italian food, Italian-American, Italian-American food, lunch, Marsala, Marsala wine, one-pot, one-pot dinner, one-pot meal, Progresso, Progresso Rich & Hearty chicken and homestyle noodle soup, Progresso soup, simple, slow cooker, slow cooker chicken, slow-cooked, Slow-Cooker Chicken Marsala

It has a gourmet name and flavor to match, but this version of an Italian-American classic can be on your dinner table with fairly little prep, no hassling over the stove, and surprisingly little cleanup afterwards.  This Slow-Cooker Chicken Marsala also includes noodles in the recipe, making this a true one-pot meal.

I love those dishes with fancy names and delicious tastes that are easy to cook at home.  I also love cooking with wine.  For one thing, adding the right wine to your choice of meat is a really quick way to add depth of flavor to a dish without having to drag out every fresh herb and spice under the sun.  It’s nice to be able to scale down the ingredients list (and required technical skill) a bit, sometimes.  Making a dish with wine also gives me an excuse to have a glass or two of it (whatever is left after I reserve the required amount for the recipe, haha) while cooking–or, in this case, while waiting for the Crock-Pot to work its magic.
