Would You Pick One Or Make a Combination Of All 3 Of Them?

It’s always the same thing for me when it comes to holiday meals.

I start planning really early, to make sure there is no last minute panic. But then I simply find way too many great recipes and I start rethinking my choices. After about 3 weeks of hopping back and forth between ten different recipes, my husband picks one for me. I know, it’s sad!

But this year I don’t have to rethink anything. This sweet potato casserole recipe that I found on Recipes For Our Daily Bread is brilliant. Basically, you get an awesome sweet potato casserole with three topping options in one! We all have that favorite topping we like better than others, so now you can make something for everyone.

I actually can’t believe I hadn’t thought of this myself. This is great for anyone like me, who are having a hard time deciding what to serve at Christmas dinner!

Sweet Potatoes are a MUST have on our Holiday Menu and anytime throughout the year!

We Love them Especially my son!! I asked him what kind of sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving this year, and he said “All of them!” haha. Well, It was unanimous that the family wanted this recipe and mashed sweet potato casserole. I made this one tonight. My husband loves sweet potatoes, too. Every time we go to the steakhouse he orders a sweet spud instead of a regular baked white tater.

It is an easy recipe with a nice creamy texture and a hint of sweetness. Add the fresh ginger and they’ll be begging for more! A Great Dish to add to any Holiday meal!

This dish can be prepared the night before & baked prior to serving. I love making this dish the night before because it saves me so much time when the big day comes rolling around. Plus, it also saves space in the oven. Yes!

You May Not Need An Entree When You’re Serving These

If there is one thing that I enjoy most about Thanksgiving dinner it would have to be the sweet potato casserole. When I was growing up my mom didn’t just set out a pot of sweet potatoes with a bit of butter and brown sugar on them. Nope. She blended it all up into a creamy mess and baked it in the oven until we had a glorious sweet potato casserole. My favorite! My mother would use lots of brown sugar and butter and her sweet potato casserole always came out divine.

I’ve used my mother’s recipe for every Thanksgiving meal, but last year I decided to try something a little different for a change. I still wanted that wonderful sweet potato flavor, but I was hoping to modernize the dish a little bit. When I came across this recipe on Facebook, I immediately knew this was it!

This is probably considered an appetizer but I made a huge batch of these and served them as a side dish, instead of the traditional sweet potato casserole. My family loved these! They disappeared in minutes and people were hoping there were leftovers, to munch on later at night!

The Way To A Man’s Heart? This Recipe, Right Here

Here’s a one pot meal ya’ll are going to love! I always enjoy stews like this – first of all, because they’re so extremely tasty. And second, because the cleanup is a breeze!

I honestly think it’s a blessing for everyone when you don’t have to bring out all your pots and pans to feed your family. As you let all of the ingredients simmer together in one dish, it makes the flavors even more delightful and you won’t need to add anything fancy. In fact, you’ll probably have most of these ingredients at hand, right now!

This stew is a great way to add some veggies into your picky eater’s diet. My little one does not like celery at all, but he never complains when I serve this for dinner. I honestly think all the flavors have combined so nicely that he doesn’t even realize there’s celery in it! But, of course, you could omit that if you’re not a fan.

Festive enough for a special occasion – but you’ll want to make it “just because”!

If you were to ask me what my favorite food was, I would have to say anything chicken! I love chicken in every way you can think of; chicken soup, fried chicken, with Asian flavors – literally, anything. But there is one chicken dish that is and has always been number 1 for me, and that’s roast chicken. Mmm-hmmm! A whole chicken, perfectly seasoned and roasted to crispy perfection in the oven. It really doesn’t get any better than that!

I’ve tried plenty of roast chicken recipes and I have to admit there’s quite a variety of them out there. Fortunately I’ve managed to try the good ones, so far – unlike my friend. She said the roast chicken she tried, turned out so awful that she had to throw it away and order takeout. I’d hate to waste all that time and money!

This is one of my favorite roast chicken recipes and I’ve made it so many times that I can guarantee a delicious result! Plus, you get some exotic flavors in there, too – and that’s always a plus, if you ask me!

Sweet potatoes have become my new best friend. I have always stayed away from them due to this one experience where I absolutely hated it. I had always been a huge potato fan. But I mean, regular potatoes. However, after a long time of eating those, I wanted to branch out and try something new. So one day, I was at Outback and ordered a baked potato. The waiter came back to my table a few minutes later to inform me that they were out of baked potatoes, but they could give me a sweet potato instead. I figured I would give it a try.

 

What he brought was a burnt sweet potato covered in butter and brown sugar. Like, it was swimming in butter. Now imagine taking a bite of something burnt dunked in brown sugar. It is definitely not all that appetizing. Well, I thought all baked sweet potatoes were like that, so I never ordered it again… that is until I found out how to make them myself. I figured I would give them a try and absolutely loved them. It is from that great experience that I experimented more and then eventually came up with this sweet potato chowder!

I think I have already mentioned that my boyfriend has a lot of brothers. Here’s a story about another one of them. Levi is two years older than my boyfriend and four years older than the youngest, but he’s still a bit childish. Don’t get me wrong. Levi is kind and he grew up to be a gentleman, but he still hasn’t found his calling. He works different jobs because he doesn’t know what he wants in life. He also hasn’t had a steady girlfriend in years because he is not sure if he can commit to anyone and he doesn’t want to cause anyone pain because of his indecisiveness. He visits us sometimes and stays over so he has become close to me. He’s like the older brother that I never had since my real brother is two years younger than me. I am always worried about him and hopes that one day, he will find what he is looking for.

 

I remembered that one time when he stayed over and cooked for us. He decided that it would be shepherd’s pie for dinner. However, we didn’t have potatoes available at the moment so he had to make do with the sweet potatoes that were on the vegetables rack. His accidental sweet potato shepherd’s pie tasted great. What a sweet accident, isn’t it? I hope such a “sweet accident of fate” would happen to him too. And soon.
