So, the other day, Sally came over with this big bowl of what appeared to be potato salad. Mind you, it’s October so I wasn’t in the mood for picnic foods. However, I’d still pretty much stuff my face with potato salad at any time because that stuff is addicting! Okay, anyway, back on track. Sally didn’t have potato salad in her bowl she had caramel apple Snicker’s salad! Even better than potato salad.

Who would have known that apples and chunks of Snicker’s bar could make such a delicious dessert salad? I mean, guys, this stuff is beyond good, it’s amazing. I can’t get enough of it. My little boy helped me stir everything together and then we took a small bowl of it over to Sally to repay her for telling us about this awesome salad.

I’ll be honest, coffee cake has never been one of my favorite desserts. I always found it to be dry. Then, I came across this recipe for raspberry cream cheese coffee cake and my taste buds went straight to the Pearly Gates of Great Food. This cake is anything but dry and the raspberry and cream cheese filling give it a wild punch of flavor.

I am a huge fan of cream cheese and incorporating the rich and smooth dairy delight into desserts. I love how this ingredient compliments the coffee cake. There’s nothing like freshly-cooked, crispy orange chicken on a bed of rice or noodles! I like brown rice as opposed to white rice. Rice noodles are good in Asian-inspired dishes, too.

New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest times for Chinese Restaurants and ordering Chinese Takeout. With recipes like this, you can toss that menu and make your own like a master in your kitchen.

My friends at Crafting Morning say:

“It was DELICIOUS the day I made it! The chicken was so juicy, I served it over white jasmine rice with some roasted broccoli, my husband and I loved it. I didn’t use all the sauce as a little went a long way and it did take quite a while to fry all the chicken pieces but it was well worth it!!”

Quick Tip: Serve your orange chicken over brown, white rice, quinoa or any other of your favorite grains. Or eat it all on its own.

Remember those hot summer days when we were kids, and our parents would treat us banana banaa split? Well, sweetheart, it’s time tot ake a walk down memory lane because this decadent dessert is totally going to take you back. Frozen banana split squares are the peanut butter to my jelly, the Ozzy to my Harriet, and the cheese to my crackers.

This one-pan dessert is absolutely delicious and perfect for serving on days when the mercury rises. It’s cool, sweet, and amazingly nostalgic. I enjoy serving this dessert during summer picnics. My sister, who has an August birthday, has requested I make her this dessert in place of a birthday cake. Who turns down birthday cake? People who have eaten frozen banana split squares, that’s who.

cake, chocolate chip, Hood Ice Cream, ice cream cake, M&M, pound cake, Reese's peanut butter cups, Smucker's

Everyone knows how to bake a basic cake from the package, and drop a scoop of ice cream on top; but what if you were able to combine the two in a creamy confection to die for?  As a kid, who didn’t love a delectable ice cream cake?  The end result is hardly discernible from the pro’s!

This recipe yields 6-8 servings and is quite easy to complete.  The only ingredient you need to bring to the table here is patience, because it has to set in the freezer for 4 hours or more.  The chocolate shell sauce will remind you of when you were a kid, coating your soft serve with it.  This recipe can be enjoyed by all ages, and is a fun way to celebrate any celebration!

aebleskiver, aebleskiver pan, breakfast, breakfast on the go, buttermilk, Danish, dessert, fruit preserves, Gold Medal, Gold Medal flour, Gold Medal unbleached flour, jam, pancake balls, pancakes, Powdered sugar, Smucker's, Smucker's jam

Your typical pancakes take on a new and more convenient form! The Danish did it right with these aebleskiver pancake balls. Light as air these go down like water – and trust me – once you pop you can’t stop!

They are perfect for breakfast on the go, or even a tasty dessert. Serve these with a dusting of powdered sugar and a side of fruit preserves for a delicious treat. If you don’t have the special aebleskiver pan, no problem! A mini muffin tin works just as well, although the shape will be a little different but the taste won’t change. Enjoy!

Classic cheesecakes can be delicious, but they have a reputation for being fairly heavy.  If you want something similar that is a bit lighter and more warm weather-appropriate, you should give this Roasted Strawberry & Ginger Ricotta Cheesecake a try.  It has a delicious and decadent flavor without weighing you down.

I am a devout cheesecake lover, but even I have to admit that cheesecakes can be extremely heavy, especially if they have the rich toppings and crust that I like the most.  I thought that I would give a ricotta cheesecake a try.  I have to say, I was very pleased.  It was rather light and fluffy, allowing me to enjoy all of those delightful sweet and piquant flavors without getting too bogged down after a few bites.  (And who wants to get bogged down on a hot late-summer day?)
