Easy And Quick To Make This Mac Salad Recipe Is No-Fuss!

Every Memorial Day weekend, we always have what seems like ten different events to attend. Some of them we don’t have to bring anything, but there are others where the request is to bring in a dish to pass. I don’t mind doing my share of the cooking, especially when I’m showing up with a family of five. With a couple toddlers running around though, I don’t always have the time in my schedule to make a big fancy dish. So, when I found this recipe on Group Recipes in knew it was going to be perfect for me.

This recipe has so few ingredients and only two steps to put it together. When we got invited to our first party last year, I pulled these instructions out and got to work. It went together so fast, I don’t think my kids even noticed that I was in the kitchen and not playing with them like I usually do on the weekends.

I was nervous to see how this was going to go over, but it was a huge hit. I followed the amounts exactly as they were listed and the bowl got emptied right out. So, for the next party, I had to double it up. It went over well at that event too. It’s my new go-to for all our summer events.

Ditch Your Old Recipe With The Extra Calories – This Creamy Mac Salad Is BETTER

There’s one thing I remember very clearly from my childhood. Whenever there was a party, no matter what the occasion, they always served macaroni salad.

I’m not sure if it was some kind of a trend back then but, I do remember it was always my favorite. Everyone had their own recipe, each a little different than the other, but to me they were equally delicious. It wasn’t until I was in my twenties when I first tried to make it myself. It turned out way too dry – I guess that’s what you get when you’re trying to pull something off without using a recipe!

I have learned my lesson since then, and these days I always find a recipe first before I start making all kinds of adjustments… This macaroni salad recipe right here is one of the easiest I’ve tried, and also one of the best. It’s definitely not dry, but it’s not too creamy either. Now that I’m trying to watch my waistline a little after Christmas, I made a healthier version of this. And I have to say I actually like it even more!

Macaroni salad is a staple picnic food that my has at almost every summer gathering. We don’t just make this salad; we craft this salad with a chef-like precision. Ok, so we like to think so, anyway. Haha!

This recipe for mac salad is the bees knees, and you wanna know why? Because there is tuna fish in it. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “not everyone likes tuna!” I totally get that. I, particularly don’t like tuna, but when it’s intermingled in the savory ingredients of this salad, it truly becomes the “chicken of the sea.” Tuna gives this traditional BBQ salad such an awesome kick of flavor and protein.

If you aren’t a tuna fan, I encourage you to at least give this macaroni salad recipe a try. I just might make a believer out of you, yet! I have a house full of picky eaters and they gobbled this up so fast, I knew within minutes I should have made a double batch!

Quick Tip: If you honest to goodness cannot stand tuna, replace it with canned chicken.

Make a Tasty Side For Any Gathering Without Straining Yourself Too Much Doing It

Give that favorite mac salad recipe of yours a new rival with this Hawaiian Macaroni Salad recipe!  It’s incredibly simple to put together and makes for a great side for most any large gathering. To be honest with you, sometimes I have this for lunch on its own, instead of serving it as a side dish! Though perhaps not QUITE as ubiquitous as cole slaw or potato salad, you will see macaroni salad, or “mac salad” as it is often called, at many a tailgate, barbecue, potluck, and picnic across America, particularly in the South.

This Hawaiian mac salad, though very similar to the Southern version of which I am the most familiar, does something a little different with the dressing and makes use of a somewhat different vegetable mixture, so I thought I would give this variation a try.

My husband really enjoyed this version of mac salad and I was super surprised. You see, my hubby is quite particular about his mac salad and he doesn’t like the recipe to be changed up in the least. Welp, he enjoyed this version. Winning!

This “Garbage” is a Foodie Treasure

No, this sinful creation isn’t healthy in the slightest, but don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it! This Rochester Garbage Plate is a perfect go-to when you have to feed your meat and starch fix. Boy, is it good!

I was brought up in the Deep South cooking tradition, and I love my gourmet creations. But I enjoy exploring what other regions have to offer, and now and then, I just want to indulge in some earthy, down-home fare. I came across this Garbage Plate recipe, and it looked perfect for feeding that primal meat-and-starch craving that even the most refined chefs and food lovers have now and then. And the wry humorist in me thought that it would be great to go around saying, “I ate Garbage today; you should try some, too!”

I know better than to set my expectations TOO high on such a dish, famous or not, and the word “garbage” is in the name, haha, but let’s just say that I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The accolades that this regional dish received from the Food Network and the Travel Channel were well deserved, it seems.
