These Guilt-Free Wraps Will Help You Watch Your Figure

I have finally admitted it to myself. I need to shed a couple of pounds. And by “couple” I mean about twelve. That wouldn’t be so bad but, you know, I just love food!

I’ve never really been on a diet and I don’t intend to start one now, because I doubt I would be able to follow strict rules on what I was allowed to eat and what I wasn’t. That’s why I’ve decided to collect a bunch of recipes that are healthy and lean, but most importantly really delicious! This way I won’t feel like I have to compromise on anything.

This was one of the first recipes I searched for. I knew these were tasty because my friend had made them for a party earlier, and they disappeared faster than anyone of us could say “lettuce wrap”! It was unbelievable – even the guys were hauling these on their plates like crazy, not even looking at the more traditional bacon appetizers that she was serving.

Quick Tip: You could use ground chicken instead of chopping the cooked chicken breasts.

Fried rice has been a staple item in my household for many years. It is something that my grandma cooked long ago when she did not know what to serve us for lunch and something my mom also made when she was stumped for a good dinner. They also made this regularly due to the fact that they could use up leftover rice, eggs and any protein that was left lying around in the fridge. They really hated letting anything go to waste so this was the best option next to throwing it all away!

Nowadays, I find myself making the same thing they used to do. Whether I am stumped for a new recipe to cook up for dinner, am being lazy and do not want to spend a long time cooking over the stove or just want to use up leftovers, I know I can count on this recipe to get me a good, nutritious and delicious meal on my table in no time. This dish is one of my husband’s new favorites as well and now I do not make it only when I have leftovers, but when he really craves it. It is yummy and fun to eat all in one bowl!

Indulge in this Chinese Chow Funtastic Veggie Recipe.

This game-changing Chinese recipe will definitely make you ask for a second or even a third serving.  I know this for a fact. You can’t wait to sink your teeth into the crispy goodness of the vegetables within this dish.

“For this vegetable chow fun, I decided to make it with eggplant–lightly fried to give the dish a richer texture. Plus, when coupled with shiitake mushrooms, it rounds out the umami flavors. Which reminds me, if you’re a vegetarian and have not discovered vegetarian oyster sauce yet, you need to go out and get some!” -according to The Woks of Life

Don’t think “bland” when you hear “brown sauce,” because this sauce is tantalizingly tempting.  With it’s asian flare, this sauce can be used for various dishes throughout the week.

This recipe serves 4-6 people and is ready in under an hour.  Reuse the chicken later on for a hearty stir fry or an asian inspired chicken sandwich.

Potstickers are a favorite Asian appetizer for adults and kids alike. These sesame chicken ones have an amazingly authentic umami flavor that comes from the shiitake mushrooms. If you’re not familiar with umami, I can’t really explain it. You’ll just have to make these to find out – I promise you it’s tasty!

My family and my children in particular absolutely loved these. I thought they might not enjoy them because of the authentic and sort of adult flavors of the sesame and the shiitake mushrooms. These potstickers aren’t your ordinary freezer isle bag variety that my kids are used to… Well, they noticed the difference but in a good way. Apparently I’ll have to make these every week from now on! Try these for your next Asian dinner night you will not be disappointed.

Are you in love with Chinese food? I know I am! It’s a bittersweet thing that there is no Chinese restaurant in my home town. I would be a regular customer, but I know it might also break the bank – I would probably go there every single day…

One of my favorite things about Chinese food is the fried rice, I think this is the case with a lot of people. Sometimes I will order just the chicken fried rice for my entree. This spicy chicken fried rice recipe really hits the mark and is just as good as any that I have had out. And since it’s so easy to cook, I can have my favorite dish any time I want!

Let us know how yours turns out and please share in the comments below if you’ve decided to alter the recipe and you come up with an extra special delicious version of your own!

Chinese BBQ Pork Using PORK BELLY !!!

BBQ Pork, Billy Bee honey, breakfast, Chinese rose wine, cooking, cookware, dessert, dinner, food, food coloring, garlic, gastro, ginger, Kikkoman hoisin sauce, Lee Kum Kee dark soy sauce, Lee Kum Kee light soy sauce, Lee Kum Kee oyster sauce, lunch, maltose, peppercorn, Planters peanut oil, pork belly, recipe, sesame oil

Very rarely do I get really excited about a new recipe but using pork belly for Chinese BBQ pork is genius.

This Chinese BBQ pork recipe is pretty authentic as well, not that they are serving it in China but Americanized Chinese food goes back to the 1800’s and has a pretty cool history. I may go over it more in depth on another post.

Back to using pork belly for BBQ pork. I wish I had thought of this, pork belly is the perfect conduit for all this marinade and spice. So if you really want to impress some dinner guests or you family you have to try this!
