That Fluffy, Creamy Frosting Is Better Than ANY You’ve Ever Tried Before

I didn’t know it was possible to get tired of your favorite cake in the world but, ladies and gentlemen, it happened. I am still in shock and I think I may need therapy. It was a couple of weeks ago when I made the chocolate cake I had LOVED for years, and I thought, “this doesn’t taste as good as it used to”. Seriously, I had over-enjoyed that recipe!

Lucky me, I had already set my eyes on an amazing cake my friend had made for her daughter’s birthday party. It was so delicious, I just had to ask her for the recipe. And since my old favorite didn’t seem delish anymore, I grabbed my apron and got to work last weekend!

Boy, am I glad I did because this turned out amazing! The cake itself is totally scrumptious, but that special frosting will make you slap your knees – or maybe even your momma! Who would have thought a little bit of mint could make such a huge difference?

Quick Tip: For even stronger flavor, you could add a drop of mint extract to the cake batter, too.

Colorful food just makes your children’s day brighter – to be honest with you, it makes my day a lot better, too! I like making these Rainbow Bright Cupcakes for children’s birthday parties or other special occasions. I especially love baking these together with my nieces and nephews! They’re all so excited to help out in the kitchen, and they go crazy over the colorful result!

I usually also prepare some of these for Christmas, as gifts for friends and family members. I like to be creative when it comes to wrapping them, as well. I put it in a colorful cupcake box with some nice tags and ribbons. My nieces and nephews just love to write a special message to each one of these boxes. I am happy whenever we do this because we get to spend some fun time together!

all-purpose flour, Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, breakfast, brown sugar, butter, Campbell’s soups, casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, cooking, cookware, Cool Whip, cream cheese, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, dinner, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, eggs, fisher nuts, food, food coloring, gastro, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, Kerrygold butter, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, lunch, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, recipe, red velvet brownie, Ritz crackers, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, sugar, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping, white vinegar

I am a huge red velvet fan. And when I say “huge fan”, I mean it in a way that I make red velvet cake at least once a month. I just can’t help it! I know, I know – it’s basically just chocolate, but coming from the South we love red velvet. Especially when done with cream cheese! And you guessed it – the secret ingredient in these red velvet brownies is cream cheese. You can’t go wrong with that! It makes them super yummy and goes really well with the brownie texture.

You also get that beautiful, marble-like color that will make these brownies the center of attention at any party. These are going to be a big hit wherever you do them, be it just for dessert or for a potluck or tailgate. Be sure to set aside a couple of pieces for yourself – they will be gone before you know it!

Trust me. I set these brownies out on the counter to cool and went upstairs to take a shower, right? When I returned to the kitchen half the pan was gone!

Chinese BBQ Pork Using PORK BELLY !!!

BBQ Pork, Billy Bee honey, breakfast, Chinese rose wine, cooking, cookware, dessert, dinner, food, food coloring, garlic, gastro, ginger, Kikkoman hoisin sauce, Lee Kum Kee dark soy sauce, Lee Kum Kee light soy sauce, Lee Kum Kee oyster sauce, lunch, maltose, peppercorn, Planters peanut oil, pork belly, recipe, sesame oil

Very rarely do I get really excited about a new recipe but using pork belly for Chinese BBQ pork is genius.

This Chinese BBQ pork recipe is pretty authentic as well, not that they are serving it in China but Americanized Chinese food goes back to the 1800’s and has a pretty cool history. I may go over it more in depth on another post.

Back to using pork belly for BBQ pork. I wish I had thought of this, pork belly is the perfect conduit for all this marinade and spice. So if you really want to impress some dinner guests or you family you have to try this!
