Creamy mashed potatoes made with cheese and bacon and baked until hot and bubbly.

I have a thing for potatoes. I love the taste of them, and I love switching up the flavor of potatoes with lots of different toppings. One of my favorite things to do with potatoes is make them mashed. I have made them, with a reference to Ross in the show Friends, “with lumps” and with skin and completely creamy and plain and with different toppings.  Whatever the case may be, I assure you I have made the potatoes this or that way.

Now, I have figured out that my absolute favorite way to make mashed potatoes is in a casserole form.  That is, I boil the potatoes, mash them in the same pot I cooked them in, then add toppings such as a bit of cream cheese, a spoonful of sour cream (okay, maybe a little more than that), a dash of salt and a bit of garlic powder.

Put all that together, and you have got the very best mashed potatoes you have ever tried.  But it does not end there, add this all to a casserole dish and then top with cheese, bacon and lots of chives and you have got the dish of the year in this new year and forever!

Breakfast Bakes. A man’s (or woman’s) best friend. There is nothing more comforting when you wake up than knowing that you have a bake in the fridge and all you have to do is pop that in the oven and it will be good to go. It is easy, simple and usually very comforting food that is perfect for getting yourself going on a lazy morning. Also a perk, these are quite filling and kids tend to love them! You can fix this up in any way you want, so do not be afraid to get creative with your preparation of this dish.

A great way to make your kids eat their veggies is to hide them in these! The kids love this because it is all their breakfast in one dish, so it will all be in one bowl and easy to chow down with a spoon. They also cannot really tell what is in it, so they eat it thoroughly, enjoying the potatoes and bit of cheese on the top, so it really does make it the perfect dish to sneak some of those veggies they would not eat otherwise. Do not let this fool you, it is easy to prep and delicious to enjoy.

Do you have a special occasion or a party coming up? You’ve probably already figured out what your main course should be, but why not make things really fancy and serve some pretty amazing appetizers as well! No, it doesn’t have to be difficult or too time-consuming. In fact, I’ll prove it to you with this recipe!

Chances are, you probably already have these ingredients in your kitchen. Nevertheless, these appetizers come out of the oven so warmly delicious, no one will notice how simple they are to make. You can use a variety of dipping sauces with this dish, but some of the more popular ones include: Honey Mustard, Horseradish, Dijon Mustard, Ranch, and Ketchup. The roll makes about 8 slices, and takes approximately 60 minutes to make. You can also substitute the mozzarella for other cheeses, like Swiss. By the way, you may want to consider making a double batch… these are so delicious!

It’s safe to say that this recipe for Baked Ham & Cheese Party Wraps is meant for sharing. As-is, the recipe makes a dozen delicious wraps, topped with a delicious sweet & savory glaze. And especially considering that it’s party food (or VERY hearty snack food), it’s not exactly the most involved recipe in the world.

Ham and cheese makes for a good combination for a simple lunch or for party food. You may not bother with simple sandwiches again, though, once you see how easy it is to put these packed swirls of deliciousness. You can also very easily change the recipe a bit each time you make these – add some of your favorite fresh herbs, or use a little hot sauce in the glaze for a spicier touch!
