What would you serve with this mouth-watering pork?

My nephew graduated from high school last spring. It was an exciting, yet terrifying day for me. I was proud of my sister’s oldest son, but that meant that my boy was going to be graduating the following year, as he was only one birthday behind him. We all went and had a spectacular time celebrating the event. It was nice to catch up with everyone and to talk to my first nephew about what his plans were for the future. He decided that he was going to join the military and do a few years there before going to college. That sounded like a fine plan to me. He was sure of himself, so I was standing behind him.

When it came time to eat, I saw that my sister and few of her husband’s sisters had prepared the entire meal themselves. That was impressive. I didn’t even bring a dish to pass, but she never said anything so I didn’t feel too bad about it. The main entree was a BBQ pork sandwich.

I asked my sis about where she got it from, and she said that it was her husband’s mom’s recipe from many years ago. It was fantastic! The meat was so juicy and tender, I went back for a second helping!

What?? These Aren’t The Real Thing?!

A delicious snack is a must have when you are expecting company. It doesn’t matter if it’s a simple candy bar or if it’s something as well-prepared as a pasta dish or a casserole. You just have to have something to feed your friends because it’s the polite way of entertaining guests even if they are already very close to you. If it’s weekdays or weeknights, my friends have to resort to simple dishes. It’s during those nights that I could barely eat therefore I don’t have much time to even cook anything. My saving grace is this easy biscuit recipe.

The good thing about this is that it requires very few ingredients, with some of them you can even find in your pantry.

It also really tastes just like the Red Lobster original! My friends instantly loved it and I even had to make another batch. It wasn’t a hassle though because this is an easy recipe. I had another batch whipped up in no time!

Creamy, Dreamy And Divine – You Won’t Be Able To Resist This Dessert

There was this time last summer when I went over to the house of my brother to babysit my niece for the whole day. To make her happy, I made her ice cream. It started with her asking me a story about my childhood. Since it’s a warm day, I remembered only one story that was appropriate for the reason. Mom and her ice cream. Mom used to indulge us once in a while whenever we behaved. The indulging actually became more frequent during summers because she made homemade ice cream for the family. Every other week, she made a different flavor just to be fair to everyone.

Mom had an old ice cream maker. It was just a small box that has churning wheels inside it. It churned the mixture until it finally became ice cream. My niece loved the story and asked if I could make her ice cream since they have fruits in the fridge. However, my brother didn’t have an ice cream maker.

He didn’t want it to be a reason for his daughter to request for the frozen treat every day. So I researched online if I could make her something really good that didn’t require the use of an ice cream maker. This recipe that I am about to share you was what I found. And guess what, it earned me the title, “Auntie of the Year”!

how to make cake - chocolate cherry cake

Easier than you could ever imagine!

A very dear friend of mine called me recently and she went on and on about this incredible chocolate cake she had tried the other day. I wasn’t exactly sure if it was that great – I knew my friend could be a little overly enthusiastic when it came to baking… But she made me promise (three times) that I would give this recipe a try and call her back when I’d had my first bite. I said I would – I don’t think she would have been able to sleep that night if I hadn’t!

The next day I got the ingredients and decided to get it done. And guess what? It was so easy that I almost couldn’t believe it. You literally just throw the ingredients together and give it a good stir – I love recipes like this! I don’t have the time for complicated cakes in my life right now, haha!

I swear the cake itself is so good that you wouldn’t even have to make frosting, but I did, anyway. You know me – I wouldn’t skip frosting for the world, in fact, I’d rather double the amount. Let me tell you, it was to die for!

The Best Dang Cookies I’ve Ever Tasted!

My cousin’s kids are truly a bit mischievous. There’s just no way around it! Whenever I visit her, I make sure to stay away from her boys’ line of sight.

Because when those boys notice that you notice them, they will turn their attention to you and you will not like it. She has three boys. The oldest being 8, the second six, and the third five. The most mischievous is the second child and he is the mastermind of all the things the three of them did. Now Barbara is a disciplinarian. I know how strict she is because I often see her reprimanding her kids. She’s not the type to spoil them and I think that’s really a good thing.

However, just like in every child, there are times when you cannot control the kids simply by reprimanding them. These kids have their stubborn moments, and when these stubborn moments come out to play, anyone will have a hard time convincing them to behave. Not Barbara though.

She finally found a way to control her sons’ behavior and it’s in the form of a cookie. His sons love her pecan cookies and they will do anything just to have those for their snacks. Barbara doesn’t really like using a form of “bait”, but if it’s the only way she can make her sons behave, then she will do it. At least they will behave and not cause trouble to other people.

Your family will go crazy for these!

When my husband and I first bought our house and started having babies, many years ago, we went out to eat way more than what I would like to admit.

It was just about every other night, we were grabbing something from a drive-thru, having a pizza delivered, or going up to the local family restaurant to let them cook for us. It wasn’t my proudest moment I can tell you that much. However, life was too busy, and by the time it was time to eat, the last thing that I wanted to do was go stand in the kitchen for an hour making dinner. It just wasn’t in me at the end of the day.

My husband often requested Mexican food when we went out to eat, and I could tell that it was his favorite. When I was able to cook, he also loved my cooking, so I wanted to see if I could recreate any of his favorite dishes at home. That would be a real treat!

I couldn’t wait to surprise him with these homemade chicken burritos. They were super simple to make, and I thought they smelled amazing. The only thing that we had to wait for was the hubby coming home from work to be the official taste tester of the night.

It has never been this easy to make a delish dessert!

I have always made this peanut and chocolate treat during the holidays, just like my mom did. It’s extremely easy to make and popular with everyone.

When you’re craving something sweet and salty nothing does the trick like this. I’ve even made it, cut it in very small cubes and put it in paper bags, then snuck it into the movie theater – no lie! It’s the absolute best and if you dump it in your popcorn bucket you’ll likely pass out from happiness, and then you may miss the movie so snack carefully my friends! While that was a bit overboard it’s true how addictive and satisfying this “krispy” treat is!

You’ll only need a handful of ingredients for this yummy dessert! Your friends and family will dig in and be more than impressed. Everyone thinks that candies are so difficult to make but truthfully they are not. Give it a try! It’ll be your go to snack forever.

This is the perfect thing to bring to a potluck or a picnic. While these are small bites, they pack plenty of energy so they are great for those moments when you need to rush out of the house, feeling hungry. Just grab a couple of these with you and you’re good to go!
