Many of us are familiar with Hogi Yogi and this recipe is going to bring back so many memories! This is also such a great way to add more vegetables to your diet – or your kids’, if you happen to have picky eaters in your house…
This recipe has been a huge hit over at Six Sister’s Stuff. It has received plenty of wonderful comments from readers – let’s take a look at what some of them have said about it:
This is awesome.. I worked at Hogi Yogi most of our high school days. I LOVE that you made a copy-cat recipe of the chicken bowl.. can’t wait to try it!
Ingredients (makes four servings)
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken, thawed (I cut mine into thick slices.)
1 cup Swanson’s chicken broth
1/2 cup Kikkoman teriyaki sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 minced garlic cloves
2 cups cooked rice
1 cup carrots, steamed
1 cup broccoli, steamed (Steam the veggies, until tender, shortly before serving.)
Instructions:
Mix together the chicken broth, teriyaki sauce, sugar, and garlic to make a sauce. Put the chicken in your slow cooker, pour the sauce over it, and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Divide the cooked rice and steamed veggies into four separate bowls, top with the chicken, and then drizzle the remaining sauce in the slow cooker over each serving. Enjoy!
