I remember when I first landed on the beautiful island of Maui and stepped out of the airplane with my husband. All those exotic scents and flavors lingering in the air when we walked in the airport lobby… I knew immediately that this was a place I would have to return to, some day. You could feel the aloha, and that’s something I haven’t been able to explain clearly to anyone.

It was and still is the best vacation ever; the people were amazing and friendly, the weather was incredible, and the food! Oh yes, the food was to die for. I soon lost count of how many restaurants we tried, every one of them better than the last one. Whatever you wanted to eat, they had just the right place for it!

I often feel like bringing back those memories and flavors so I’ve collected a bunch of Hawaiian style recipes. This Hawaiian chicken is one of my favorites; it’s super easy to make, and it’s absolutely mouthwatering.

If you are looking for a creative, gourmet way to cook a bunch of chicken drumsticks, look no further! This Stewed Chicken With White Wine Cream Sauce has a nice sweet and savory flavor, with just the right amount of creaminess to bring it all together. I was surprised by how easily this came together, since I always worry about having to spend too much time in the kitchen.

When Mother had a bunch of extra drumsticks on hand and didn’t feel like fussing over frying them, she would often stew them, making for really tender chicken with juices that made a nice topping for rice or other sides. This recipe is essentially a jazzed-up version of that, only with a richer, more gravy-like sauce. I loved how it turned out.
