Some days I come home from work late and I just don’t want to put forth much effort to dinner. That doesn’t mean I want to sacrifice flavor or satisfaction. That’s why I always have some salmon on hand. I usually get wild caught, and keep it frozen so that I have it as a quick go to protein. My kids even enjoy salmon because it doesn’t have a strong “fishy” taste. If you’ve never had it, you’re definitely missing out.

In fact, if you’ve never had it you need to try this recipe right away! It adds a bit of sweetness that most enjoy, even the extra picky eaters. I would suggest giving it a go for sure, as most of these ingredients you’ll have on hand. From the seasoning to the method you’ll easily impress anyone else who’s lucky enough to partake. I even take this one camping with us sometimes!

This Preacher’s Cake is the star of the pulpit.

My church puts on a potluck meal once a month for anyone who would like to attend. i always look forward to this time of fellowship and eating. Nothing beats Church Lady food, as my dad used to say. I try to bring something different each time we have potluck, so I’m always on the look out for new recipes. I recently came across this dessert recipe for Preacher’s Cake. I thought to myself, “Now, what better cake to bring to a Sunday potluck dinner than a Preacher’s Cake!” This is cake is delicious.

It’s full of spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, flaked coconut, pineapple, and nuts. Plus, it’s frosted with cream cheese icing. Yum! The cake looks really cute, too. It has the cream cheese frosting on top and sprinkled with the nuts. it’s really very eye catching. I have heard that this Preacher’s cake is very popular in the south. Have any of you southerners out there made this before?

Seriously, if any of you have ever heard of this cake before and either made or sampled its deliciousness, please let me know in the comments. I would love to hear from you! This is one cake recipe that you simply never forget.

If you are a chocolate lover, such as myself, this double chocolate butter cake is for you! This cake is so gooey and delicious! To me, it has more of a brownie texture, but that’s okay because I prefer that type of texture in my cakes. This recipe combines two of my most favorite ingredients: butter and chocolate. And folks, we aren’t just talking about a tablespoon here and a teaspoon there. This recipe makes sure to really load up on the chocolate and butter. This is definitely a “treat” cake and not something you’d want to eat every day or you might need to buy bigger pants.

We all deserve to treat ourselves with something yummy from time to time, right? So, grab your butter and chocolate and don’t you dare feel one iota of guilt over making and consuming this cake! You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to make, but watch out, it’s even easier to eat.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting with my husband’s grandma while his grandfather pitched horseshoes. Grandma is getting up there in age so she needs a little help when pap isn’t around. Boy, did we ever have a great conversation. I love listening to the stories that the elderly have to tell. I totally soaked up everything she had to say, including her baking advice. Grandma told me about this wonderful banana almond cake that she used to make for the church bake sale. She said it was the moistest cake in town. I believed her 🙂

I love any type of banana cake or bread, but i had never had either with almonds. You see, my son has a tree nut allergy so I can’t really go and make goodies that he can’t have. That would just be mean! However, sonny boy wasn’t home as he was living it up at church camp so guess what I made? Grandma’s banana almond cake! Now, poor grandma couldn’t quite remember all of the ingredients so I did a Google search and found an amazing recipe that my mother in law says mimics grandma’s. Yay!

This super easy casserole is so full of flavor, you won’t know what hit you!

Have you ever wanted a home cooked, country-style meal but you didn’t want to put in all of the work that it takes to prepare one? I hear ya! I love stuffing, chicken, potatoes, and gravy. Yum! What I don’t love is standing in the kitchen for four hours preparing everything, eating for 20 minutes, and then spending another hour in the kitchen cleaning everything up. Well, guess what? I found a solution to this problem and the results are delicious. Country chicken and dressing casserole is one of the best meals I’ve put on my table to date in terms of flavor and ease.

This stuff ranks up there will all the other comfort foods we’ve come to know and love like macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, and beef roasts. It combines everything you’d expect to eat for Sunday dinner in one convenient casserole. What could be easier or tastier?

I think making a bowl of cereal may be an easier option but it sure as hang won’t be tastier! This casserole has everything your little heart could ever desire in it. It’s honestly like a holiday meal all in one pan. You need to give this stuff a try. Trust me, you won’t be sorry that you did!
