I made these for Thanksgiving and several holiday parties.

They were a huge hit with all. Especially, for my healthy “portion controlled” friends!

They liked the fact that they could have one pie ball instead of being served one slice of pie and only eating a small portion of it. A lot of people have asked about a non-alcoholic version: try almond extract if you do not like the taste of alcohol. You can also use a rum non-alcohol flavoring.

Add a little water to an equal liquid amount. Vanilla wafers can be subbed for graham crackers. These are wise words from my friend Camille McClendon. Thanks, Lady!

I am in love with these pecan pie balls. Just like Camille said, they are perfect for those portion-controlled people in your life. I really should be more like these people.

However, on the holidays I like to splurge a bit. Make these pecan pie balls for a church function or holiday party. Just don’t forget to tell everyone that that contain tree nuts as you want to be sensitive to those with allergies.

My son has a tree nut allergy so I make a little note card that details what the food is and what is in it when we are hosting parties. Works like a charm. Enjoy!

Don’t tell me you haven’t tried this incredible recipe yet!

I love me some pecan pie, especially the Southern kind. However, I don’t really know the difference between a southern and northern pecan pie haha! I guess I’ve eaten many northern pecan pies in my day due to my grandmother making them all the time. You see, we are from Michigan and granny sure did make a mean pecan pie. Did your grandmother like to make pies?

If so, please tell me which kinds. I love learning about other people’s family tradition and all that jazz. Making memories in the kitchen with grandma was always one of the best parts of growing up.

The pie recipe on the following page is super easy to make and it renders a thick and juicy pie with lots of ooey gooey filling. You’re going to love it!

Let me know how you like this recipe in the comment section below. Enjoy!

I am a huge sucker for pecan pie. I lOVE the stuff. I’ve many pecan pies in my day but this recipe by The Pioneer Woman takes the cake…er…pie! Now, I had to make this dessert at my dear Friend Sally’s house because my youngest boy is allergic to tree nuts. Poor little guy will never get to experience the joys of pecan pie. Sniffle.

Don’t worry, I made him a little loaf of chocolate bread and he was happy as a skunk in a hen house. Anyway, if you want a great pecan pie recipe then this is the one to follow. it’s delicious and very easy to make. Enjoy!

Quick Tip: The baking temperature required seems to vary widely from oven to oven. Mine bakes perfectly in 50 minutes, but some are reporting that the pie is still soupy. If the pie is very jiggly when you remove it from the oven, cover with foil and bake for another 20 minutes or until mostly set. – Ree Drummond

I love caramel, love cheesecake, and love pecans. And hey, who doesn’t love a good pie? This recipe nicely combines all of the above. Yes, it’s a rich dessert–no doubt about that. But it is a good one.
