This Recipe Will Take You Back To Mama’s House

You know what always reminds me of home the most? Meatballs. No matter how far from home I happen to be, I can always get these familiar ingredients and feel like I’m back at my Mom and Dad’s house.

I swear, sometimes making these meatballs makes me feel younger, too! I have so many fun memories from my childhood and this was a meal we always very much looked forward to, my siblings and I. Over the years I have tweaked the recipe just a tiny bit, and my kids love these as much as I always have!

I like to pair these with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, but these will go together with pretty much anything. Spaghetti? Yum. Dinner rolls? Mmmmm! Potato wedges? Yes, please!

If it was up to my kids and my husband, we would be having these meatballs every week! I always bring the kids along when making these – they love to help me out in the kitchen, and they especially enjoy making meatballs. Which is perfect for me, since they really are a big help!

Forget Oatmeal – This Is Your New Favorite Breakfast!

One of the things I remember most about growing up is my mom’s big breakfasts on the weekend. She would always whip up some sort of breakfast casserole or pancake meal on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I have since carried on this tradition with my own family. We usually have a large breakfast on Sunday mornings. It’s so nice to be able to sit down around the table as a family and eat while chatting. Do you and your family have any breakfast traditions? I’d love to hear about them if you do 🙂

You are going to be so glad you came across this delicious tater tot breakfast casserole. it’s easy to make and it tastes like pure morning sunshine.

I love making easy meals, you guys. I mean, I am all about keeping my meals healthy for my family but healthy doesn’t mean it has to be hard. I came across this delicious French onion chicken recipe the other day while I was searching for a suitable supper to feed my hungry family. This recipe only has 5 ingredients and most of the items are probably hiding in your kitchen as it is. Isn’t awesome when you find an impromptu recipe and you have all the ingredient on hand? Not having to drop what you’re doing and run to the grocery store is always a plus.

Guess What We’re Having For Breakfast Tomorrow Morning?

I’m going to tell you a secret. I know you’re not supposed to talk about secrets but this is too good not to share. It has made my mornings so much happier – and on top of it all, I don’t have to drag my kids out of bed kicking and screaming anymore!

We used to have the usual oatmeal or cereal for breakfast – and there’s nothing wrong with that. We still do, on those mornings when I happen to wake up to a weird feeling and I realize I’ve overslept. There’s no way I can really make breakfast on those days!

But whenever the kids seem even more tired than usual, and I’m having a hard time trying to get them out of their PJ’s, I make these incredible breakfast sandwiches. As soon as the aromas start lingering in the kitchen and towards their bedrooms, they rush to the table so fast, Usain Bolt would not keep up with the speed.

And why wouldn’t they when there’s so much deliciousness going on! These are the tastiest sammies ever, and I couldn’t imagine getting tired of these even if I had them for breakfast, lunch AND dinner!

Quick Tip: Any bread will do for these sandwiches, but I recommend using whole-grain.

This Recipe Will Make You Feel Like You’re Back In Grandma’s Kitchen

Hey, everyone! So, today we are making a classic cottage pie for dinner! I’m super excited about this recipe because you can use lamb or beef. I’ve never had lamb before so I think I’ll be wrastling me up some to use. Have any of you ever used ground lamb in a cottage or shepherd’s pie? I wonder what it tastes like. I should probably cook a little sample up for my taste testy self to make sure that I actually like it. I wouldn’t want to make an entire cottage pie, sample it, and gag over the taste of the lamb LOL! I’m sure that wouldn’t happen, though.

This recipe is quite versatile and allows you to add or subtract ingredients as you see fit. I didn’t add any shredded carrot to mine but I did add onion.

Let me know how you like this recipe in the comment section below. Enjoy!

Combine Your 2 Favorite Cuisines With This Kid-Approved Recipe

Hey, everyone! So, today I have a real treat for you. Who is in the mood for both Italian and Mexican cuisine? I know, I know, it sounds a little weird but trust me, you’re going to LOVE this recipe! Now, I’ll tell you right off the bat that I know my picture looks a little different from what the recipe calls for but that is because I added and subtracted some ingredients. That’s the beauty of this whole cooking thing…you can personalize your dish to meet your needs! My kids don’t like black olives and my hubby hates corn so I left those ingredients out.

I opted to add some red kidney beans to the mix because that’s what I had on hand and hey, they ended up tasting darn good in this Mexican lasagna!

This is a great after-church casserole or better yet, a dish to pass at a potluck supper. Enjoy!

You Won’t Believe How Fast You Can Get This Done

Don’t you just hate it when it’s 100 degrees outside and you really, really crave for lasagna? Even if it’s not summer, sometimes I ditch lasagna from our dinner rotation simply because I can’t bare to think of all the hassle. All those pots and pans, and all that time! But the kids love it just as much as I do, so occasionally I just have to make it. Boy, was I glad when I heard there is an easy way to work around these issues – and it’s called skillet lasagna!

I know what you’re thinking; how is it even possible to make lasagna in a skillet? What about the lasagna noodles? Doesn’t this dish need a really long cooking time? Those were my thoughts exactly, the first time my friend told me about this recipe.

Believe it or not, you can get this lasagna done in 30 minutes! You heard me – you’re only a half an hour away from your favorite Italian meal, and it’s possibly even tastier than the traditional version. All the familiar flavors are there but you just don’t have to stress over the cooking process!

Quick Tip: Turn this into a veggie lasagna by replacing the meat with broccoli and grated carrots.
