Angel food cake, black white, dark cocoa, Flour, lemon juice

If the world was perfect, no dessert would contain calories.  But since they’re usually our weak spots, riddled with calories, the best we can do is find a recipe that is light on the load.  Angel food cake has always met that expectation, and there’s no difference here.

This easy recipe serves 12 people and is ready in about an hour.  Make sure you refrigerate the cake for at least 10 minutes prior to serving, so the glaze can set.

bacon, bacon chicken, baked bacon chicken, baked chicken, cayenne, chicken, paprika

Everything is better with bacon, and this recipe is no exception.  This casserole is packed with protein and potatoes, so you’ll need a light dessert to follow this dish.

This easy recipe serves 8 and is ready in about 45 minutes.  Becasue it’s such a rich dish, you may want to serve this meal with a light side salad or green veggie, to balance it out.

brown sugar, Cinammon Roll, cinnamon, Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal, oats

Not only that, this recipe is incredibly low in fat because it’s not made out of bread at all, but rather, the secret is baked oatmeal.  Sprinkle on a little cream cheese frosting, and you can barely tell the difference.

This easy recipe serves 6 and takes about 30 minutes to make.  The best thing about this dish is not only can it be served as a dessert, but as a breakfast plate too!  Enjoy!

bok choy, cashew chicken, cashews, chicken, soy sauce

When cashews are involved, things can get expensive.  That’s why this chicken cashew dish is perfect to make at home.  Not only does it save you money ordering out, it’s delicious, heartier, and the servings are ample.

This  recipe serves 6 people.  When using the slow cooker, if you are on low, this dish should take 3-4 hours.  To speed things up, cook on high, and it should be ready within 90 minutes.  Serve over white rice.

Since it’s winter, depending on where you live, the grill is probably put away.  Have no fear, however, because you can still pack a punch of a burger bite, with this cheesy and warm soup!

This easy recipe serves 8 people and is ready in about 4 hours.  You’re gonna want to bust out your slow cooker for this one, and set it to low.  There is plenty to go around, and this soup is best served with a crunchy french bread on the side.

kale, lasagna, lasagna noodles, Lasagna Soup, parmesan

Although this is not a new concept, it’s one that is not only quick and easy on a weeknight, but it also saves a lot longer than if you made lasagna in a casserole dish.  You can even freeze this soup, if need be so.

This easy recipe serves 8 people and is ready in about 30 minutes.  Serve with a dollop of sour cream on the top or a sprinkle of Parmesan for a little extra added flavor.
