This Dorito taco bake recipe has become a huge hit over at Farm Wife Cooks, and I can totally understand why! It is such a family-friendly casserole, and the versatility of this recipe is amazing. If you’re making this to adults alone, you could spice it up with your favorite hot sauce. Kids will usually enjoy a milder dish, and if you tell them they’re having Doritos for dinner, they will be over the moon!
Of course, you can substitute your favorite chips instead of Doritos, and get a new flavor every time you make this. I guarantee, it’s going to be often!
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 oz pkg. Old El Paso taco seasoning
3 Tablespoons water
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 14.5 oz. can Hunt’s diced tomatoes
8 oz. Daisy sour cream
1 pkg. crescent rolls (8)
1 c. shredded cheese
3 cups Dorito chips
Garnish: Pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream (optional)
Instructions:
Start by thoroughly cooking the ground beef in a medium-sized skillet. Add the next four ingredients to the skillet and simmer for an additional five minutes.
Place the crescent roll dough in a 9″ x 13″ baking dish, flatten that to form a crust. Place the ground beef mixture on top of the crust, then the sour cream, and then the cheese (layer, don’t mix).
Top with the chips, bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F, and then top with desired garnishes.
