This soup never lets me down!

You know that dreadful moment when you’re trying to find an outfit for your friend’s wedding, and you suddenly realize none of your clothes fit anymore?

I am pretty sure there’s a mysterious creature living in my closet and it’s replacing all my dresses with the same ones, only two sizes smaller. How else would you explain it that the dress I was wearing in February, is now impossible to zip? Surely it has nothing to do with all the summer BBQ’s and daily ice cream cones.

Until I either catch that creature, or win the lottery so that I can replace all my clothes with new ones, I’ve found a brilliant way to ease into those dresses and skirts I would like to wear. I don’t like diets; I just don’t have the patience, but occasionally I feel the need to shed a couple of pounds. That’s when I start eating a bit healthier and adding some exercise into my days.

As most of us probably know, it can be a lengthy process. So I’ve come up with a way to jumpstart it! I eat this super tasty cabbage soup for a few days and it makes me feel lighter immediately.

    • Stupid September 21, 2017 at 9:28 pm Reply

Really? Yes everyday all day. See how it works for you lol

Only if you are on the Cabbage soup diet. I did that diet and can tell you I lost weight and fast. You ate the soup only I believe it was for four days, then you ate it before every meal so you would get full first on soup and not over eat. I can’t remember all of the details of the diet, you can search it line. The soup is very good and very filling.

I know this soup as the 7 Day Cabbage Soup Diet. you use it with lots of fresh fruit and veggies for 3 days; banana and skim milk day 4 and slowly introduce small amounts of chicken or beef on days 5 & 6 and day 7(final day) brown rice. Can loose up to 10 lbs in the week

    • JV September 7, 2017 at 3:18 pm Reply

Yes! And it’s commonly recommended by doctors, to their heart patients. So, very healthy and safe.

Use to make this years ago with red, green cabbage, + tomatoes. can add chicken, turkey, or shrimp. can season with either Italian or Worshorshine sauce. Soy is too salty.

Go to pinterest & search “cabbage soup diet” or do a Google search. Some recipes use the onion soup packet plus chicken broth. There are many variations.

Do you continue to eat the soup after day 3? And for the first 3 days you eat it breakfast lunch and dinner?

  10. Queeniecat September 8, 2017 at 7:48 am Reply

It’s a healthy soup. I think I remember making it with a packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix instead of the added herbs and spices. Also, made a huge pot with a whole head of cabbage, whole bunch of celery, etc. I only followed the one-week diet plan once and didn’t care for it, but the soup is great and I remember eating a cupful as a snack instead of the usual pretzels or chips or candy or cookies or popcorn we tend to grab at work.

This is a great staple for the fall, winter and spring…any time of the year. Iti is great with chicken. It is great with sausage! Add sliced pork! Add meat balls…it is just a cool soup!

I just think f it as vegetable soup. It’s one of my favourites as you can add or subtract vegetables, jut try avoid those with high carb counts like corn, potatoes.

Wonderful, I love this variation of the vegetable. I’m going to try it with the chicken broth and spices. In the past I used canned tomatoes.

Thank you. Looking forward to trying this variation 🙂

Cut a LIME in half, squeeze the juice into the soup mix, and then toss in the 2 halves.
