I love leftovers. Nobody in my house will ever eat them though.

This isn’t an issue, until we have a ton of them. After big dinner parties, holidays, and other special events, I can’t eat that many leftovers. I will munch away for a day or two but after that, that’s about all I can handle. So, if I can find a way to re-purpose so that my family won’t know it’s leftovers, I’m doing it. Shepherd’s pie like this one from The Recipe Rebel is one of those recipes that nobody realizes is a leftover meal, at least at my house.

The flavor of it is so fresh and comforting, my family just gobbles it right up, no pun intended. I will sometimes switch up the vegetables a little bit or even add in some shredded cheese. You really can’t mess up this versatile dish.

By the time we are done with this meal, the fridge is emptied out and I’m not stuck trying to get down all the food that’s been left uneaten. If there are any leftovers of this, we are usually fighting over them!

I have probably said this a million times and you all have probably read it a million times, but I have a sweet tooth and I am a chocoholic.

I love to eat the sweets! I like to get creative with what I am making too. I always love hearing the oohs and ahhs when I bring a unique dessert to the event that I am attending. I, of course, love to make tasty treats as well.

The desserts that I make have to look cute but has to be doable. I am not trying to make anything unreasonable here. But I will try and make something cute. I can tell you one thing that I do know. Mini desserts are always the cutest desserts ever!

This recipe is delicious and so adorable. Who doesn’t like pie? Pie in the shape of little tiny pies!? What the heck! You can’t get any cute than that. These little pies take a little longer to make but is definitely worth making. Whenever anyone has seen these little treats they are instantly wowed. And these little pies are pretty easy to make!

We were having a group meeting at our church a few months back, and it was my turn to bring in the dessert.

Now, I’m no expert when it comes to baking. I can cook, but baking, not my thing. So, I half debated on just grabbing a pie from the bakery. I didn’t have anything else to do though, so I figured I should really surprise the ladies and bring in a homemade dish. They all knew how much I loved to bake, and I think a few actually laughed when they heard it was my turn for dessert.

I decided to look online and see if I could find something to make. I knew that I would definitely have to follow a recipe to get something that was at least edible. I found a recipe for coconut cream pie on All Recipes and figured that it was worth a shot.

The directions seemed like something I could handle, so I did a practice run. It actually turned out very tasty! I had a friend stop by the day after I made it and she said that it was very good, and worthy of taking out to the public. Finally, I am a baker!

I first moved into my current home about 5 years ago, I was so excited to get to know the area and neighbors.

There is nothing like moving into a new house to make your life feel renewed. You have so much around you to explore and discover. I love getting to know a new area and finding new stores and or new parks to take the kids to. I have to admit that I really love to meet new people as well!

After a couple of days living in the new house I got a knock on the door one afternoon. It was a lady that introduced herself as Judy and said she lived three houses down. It did not take me long to see how quirky Judy was! She was so much fun and loved to cook! I love to cook as well. We got along instantly. We started talking about the different foods that we loved to make.

It was no surprise to me that Judy loved to make foods that matched her quirky personality. The next day she brought over a pie, which said was grasshopper pie. I must have made an uneasy look because she quickly responded telling me that there is no actual grasshoppers in the pie! Whew! I was not about to eat any of that.

The grasshopper pie was full of minty and oreo goodness. I had to make this pie myself and I did! I got some strange looks when I say the name, but everyone loves to try it!

Lusciously moist cake made with tart little cranberries and whipped cream.

Cranberries are one of my favorites things to eat during the holiday season. I love cranberry sauce, jam, and desserts. This cranberry poke cake is a wonderful dessert to serve at either Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Heck, serve it at both!

One of the best things about this cranberry poke cake is how insanely easy it is to make. Poke cakes generally are. I had my youngest son, who is homeschooling this year, help me in the kitchen with this cake.

He begged me to let him poke the holes in the cake. after convincing him that he wouldn’t be using his finger he was content to use the opposite end of a wooden spoon. Next time, I’ll be making this cake by myself because poking all of those holes looked fun and I’d like to be the one who gets to do the honors. Haha!

A sparkling water cake that takes less than an hour to make from start to finish.

My mother is a wonderful cook and baker. As a kid, she was always teaching my sisters and I how to make yummy things in the kitchen. One of those recipes was for sparkling water cake.

This cake is a German staple! If you were in a German bakery you would most definitely see sparkling water cake and bread on the shelves. The cake itself is very easy to make and is finished baking in a jiffy!

My favorite part of this yummy cake is how you can add any candy or chocolate that tickles your fancy. Like nuts? Toss ’em in! As you can see from the picture our friend over at the Hungry Little Girl blog had three different flavors in mind. I think the gummy bear slice looks the best. Which one would you pick?

This will be one of the most unique cakes you’ll ever make.

I’ve experimented with plenty of strange flavor combinations in my day. Some of these combos tasted great while others completed bombed. I’m happy to report that this cake recipe is not a bomber at all!

Do you know what this cake has in it? Broccoli. Stay with me, now! I know you must be thinking how gross that sounds but I assure you that this cake turns out great. Plus, it’s covered in pumpkin-vanilla frosting. Yum!

If you’d like to surprise everyone at Thanksgiving dinner with an amazing dessert that will surely knock their socks off then this is the recipe for you. I wouldn’t tell anyone what is in the cake until they actually try it. You don’t want any pre-conceived notions running through their heads about the broccoli. This cake is truly a hit. You’ll see!
