When it comes to holiday dinners, I’m all for doing it up big.

I love tradition, I love family gathered around a set holiday table, and I love making classic foods. My menu is always packed with traditional Thanksgiving dinner dishes such as turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie.

What does your Thanksgiving dinner consist of? People think I’m a little weird because I start planning for my next Thanksgiving dinner right after New Year. What can I say? I want to serve the most delicious dishes, and I want to be able to cook and try all of them before the Big Day!

This year, I am going to try something a bit different in terms of dessert and make a pumpkin meringue pie instead of the traditional recipe. After I took one look at this pie on The Pioneer Woman’s website, I was completely sold. Such a gorgeous dessert! It doesn’t even look like food, it looks like art. Food art!

Quick Tip: This pie is so pretty it can double as a centerpiece for your table. Just don’t leave it out of the fridge for too long though as it will spoil.

Chocolate meringue, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, Meringue, pie crust

Normally when people hear about a meringue pie, they automatically think of the popular lemon version.  But you can make a meringue out of anything, and in this decadent dessert recipe, it just so happens to be our favorite: Chocolate!

This dessert is ready in 30 minutes and serves about 8 people.  Top with a dollop of whipped cream and some chocolate shavings.  You’ll be the hit of the party with this creamy dreamy recipe.

Eton Mess, Meringue, strawberries, Strawberry pie filling, whipped cream

You probably have never heard it called this, but this dessert is kinda like a strawberry meringue parfait.  It’s lighter than most desserts, and doubly delicious.

This is a quick, weekday dessert that’s also la lot lower in fat than a cake or a pie.  This recipe serves 7-8 and is ready in 15 minutes max.

Candy Cane, Candy Cane Tower, Chocolate Candy Cane, Meringue, Peppermint

This dessert is unique because even though it is indeed a cake, it is actually made out of pancakes, rather than cake mix.  The results are amazingly decadent, with a chocolaty peppermint smoothness, and creamy texture.

This recipe serves 8-10 people and is mad in under an hour.  Because these are pancakes, you may even get away with serving this delicious dish during breakfast time.  A cook can dream, can’t they?
