There’s Nothing Like Homemade Cake – And We’ve Got 6 Of Them
When it comes to dessert, I’ll take a big slice of cake over ice cream or ambrosia salad, anytime! Nothing wrong with creamy desserts; I just happen to think a delicious cake is a wonderful way to end a meal. I am a big fan of vintage recipes, so I decided to ask my mother for her favorite old-fashioned cakes. She has a collection of so many great recipes, that even a so-so baker like me will learn how to make cake for any occasion!
Originally she brought me 20 cake recipes (yes, twenty!) but I thought I’d start with a little less than that… I mean, making 20 delicious cakes in a row would mean I would have to buy a pair of new jeans, haha! But I truly think these awesome cakes are worth a few extra calories.
Mom said she had found some of these in grandma’s handwritten cookbook, and I do remember how she always served different kinds of delicious cakes when I visited her as a little girl. I hope some day my future grandchildren will think of me when they enjoy these cakes!
