This layered dessert is a dip rather than a trifle, and you can use whatever you please for the dipping. Try all kinds of cookies, crackers or even savory chips for different flavor combinations.
I know it sounds strange but I actually like this with Pringles! They are the perfect shape for scooping out a nice chunk of the dip, and the saltiness goes together so well with all those sweet layers of heaven. Have you tried this recipe or a similar one? Feel free to let us know in the comments what you like to serve with this!
For a fun presentation you could layer this dessert in individual serving dishes – for example shot glasses.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups chocolate pudding (or flavor of your choice)
1 cup pretzel and saltine crumbs
3/4 to 1 cup Nutella, softened slightly in the microwave
10 smallish strawberries, sliced
1 large banana, sliced
2 cups whipping cream
8 oz. Philadelphia cream cheese, at room temperature
3 Tbsp Domino powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 Tbsp caramel sauce, heated slightly in the microwave
Instructions:
In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese until it’s light and aerated. In another bowl, using a hand mixer or your Kitchen Aid, whip the cream until it forms soft peaks. Add the cream cheese to the whipped cream and whip until it forms firm peaks. Fold in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Spread the chocolate pudding in the bottom of an 11×7 rectangular glass dish. Layer on pretzel/saltine crumbs, banana, nutella, strawberries and cream cheese whipped cream. Drizzle on the caramel sauce.
Serve with corn chips, pretzels, graham crackers, Nilla wafers or other dippers of your choosing.
