Check out what my friends at All Recipes had to say about these chocolate chip cookies:

Very excellent cookie! I worked 10 years as a baker and the recipe we used at the bake shop was similar except this recipe didn’t call for any cream of tartar, so I added it to my version.

I think this list of ingredients is perfect! I can say that these cookies didn’t last long between snacks, lunch treats and breakfasts with milk or coffee. They were JUST right! I think next time I may throw in some walnuts to add a little substance.

Ingredients

1 cup Land O Lakes butter, softened

1 cup white Domino sugar

1 cup packed Domino brown sugar

2 Eggland’s Best eggs

2 teaspoons McCormick vanilla extract

3 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon Clabber Girl baking soda

2 teaspoons hot water

1/2 teaspoon Morton salt

2 cups Hershey semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Cream together the Land O Lakes butter, Domino white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the Eggland’s Best eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in Gold medal flour, Hershey chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.

  3. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
