Old-Fashioned Chicken And Dumplings: A Comforting Dish For The Family
A trip to Grandma and Grandpa’s house was always something to look forward to when we were younger. She lived on a huge property out in the middle of nowhere, or that’s what it seemed. We would go spend the weekend there sometimes when we were lucky. She had tons of farm animals, trails to explore, and all kinds of fun things to do. Every time we went there, it was like exploring something new. We would stay outside all day and only come in when it was time to eat. That was when we really spent our quality time with Grandma and Grandpa. That was the only time that she could get us to sit still.
One of my favorite dishes that she made was her chicken and dumplings. It was especially nice when we played outside in the fall and spring, when it was just a little bit chilly still. It was so warm and comforting. Of course, it was always amazingly delicious.
I found a recipe just like hers on My Recipes and decided to give it a whirl to see if I could get it close. It took me right back to those days when we went and spent time with two of my favorite people on Earth!
