Mom loves salad dressings. She loves them so much that she puts them in anything. If I’m addicted to cheese, she’s addicted to them. I swear I saw her use the Thousand Island dressing on bread and with peanut butter. How weird is that? But I guess this is the reason why she is able to come up with a lot of recipes that taste really good—with her experimenting with tastes like this. I remember one time when she used caesar dressing in marinading chicken breasts just because she’s tired of using the usual marinade. It tasted delicious, albeit a bit weirdly at first. It tasted nutty.

This recipe over at Southern Bite reminds me of my Mom’s weird kitchen ideas; those experiments that have gone right. This roasted garlic ranch chicken bake recipe uses ranch dressing to create a really scrumptious meal from chicken and potatoes. The philosophy behind this accidental dish is similar to a dump cake. The ingredients are put together in a dish without the cook doing some kind of mixing. They just all come together in the end, resulting to one perfect dish that everyone will love.

My momma always makes chicken.  I mean, every single day.  It’s a southern thing, except it is not always fried.  One of her favorites to make is chicken coated in cheese.  I mean, growing up as a homeschooled child, after being outside doing my “P.E.”, I would walk into this chicken coated in fatty stuff that although it was tempting to skip because I had just worked out, I simply could not pass it up.

This chicken is quite delicious.  One that everyone will love to enjoy.  I promise you, this chicken will be on your weekly menu after you try this.  This is not a boring old chicken recipe.  It is coated in ranch which gives it a tangy taste, and then loaded with cheese.  Then baked in the oven, it makes the flavors stand out more.  When the cheese melts, it crisps and ohhhh, it’s so amazing.  You are going to love this.  I beg you, try it tonight!

Quick Tip: Use powdered ranch instead of the dressing if that’s what you have on hand!

When it comes to food you can really sink your teeth into, Ranch Chicken is the ticket. Now, I know what you might be thinking and that this dish is flavored with Ranch dressing or something to that nature. Sorry doll, it isn’t. This dish got its name because it’s the kinda food a cowboy would dig while he’s sittin’ outside on his porch on a ranch.

Basically, this recipe is for hearty, wholesome, you-won’t-be-hungry-until-the-cows-come-home food. One might even describe it as “man food” but I’ll have you know that we ladies love it just  as much as our male counterparts.

Quick Tip: Make sure you use thick cut bacon in this recipe because it gives the meal a heartier more stick-to-your-ribs texture.

Some things in life just never change. For example; there’s nothing better than simple comfort food, with a twist.  Skip the burgers, and go for these melty, mustard infused chicken sandwiches!  They’re simply delicious, and a win all around. They have been a crazy success in my house, and even the pickiest of eaters have basically licked their plates clean!

Why not decide on something a little healthier on game day, rather than chicken and wings?  These ranch chicken sandwiches are topped with thick cut, crisp bacon and melted cheddar cheese.  They’ll have the whole family saying please, please, please!  You can make these on the grill, or in a skillet.  The recipe serves up to 8 people… that is, if no-one dives for seconds! I wouldn’t count on having leftovers for lunch the next day, unless you decide to make a double batch!
