I Never Knew It Could Be This Delicious To Shed A Few Pounds!

I enjoy spending time at church events; especially if it’s a potluck-type of thing, haha! Not that I wouldn’t enjoy going to church events, anyway, but every time there is food involved, I’m definitely there. The holiday cookie exchange is always a massive success, but I’m looking forward to our annual winter soup potluck. You wouldn’t believe how many great recipes I’ve gathered from there, over the years.

This cabbage soup is one of them, and it fits my post-Christmas mood perfectly. Sometimes I wonder why it is so hard for me to try and resist all the incredible desserts (and chocolate!) over the holidays. It’s virtually impossible – but at least I have this recipe to turn to, when the chocolate season is over!

I have worked my way back to my old jeans with the help of this soup, more often than I would like to admit. But it’s not just for those of us who like to watch our figure – by adding some chicken or ham I’ve served this as a hearty dinner for my family, and they all love it!

I Wouldn’t Mind Having These For Every Meal, For The Rest Of The Year!

Good morning, everyone! Today I am going to teach you how to add more flavor and texture to your green beans.

I know that green beans are generally boring but not the way we are going to prepare them. These here are fancy green beans, y’all! You’ll be adding a few extra ingredients to make these really special! And guess what else! Your picky eaters will gobble up these green beans like nobody’s business. I know my children absolutely adore them.

The first time I made these green beans I didn’t have any blue cheese on hand so I shredded up some Vermont white cheddar and it worked just fine. Use what’s in your kitchen!

These green beans are great for the holiday table, especially when you and your family are sick of eating green bean casserole. Normally, nobody gets sick of green bean casserole, though. In case you do, make these wonderful fancy green beans and enjoy!

You May Not Need An Entree When You’re Serving These Awesome Green Beans

I don’t care too much for complicated side dishes. It seems to me these days I’m happy if I have enough time to make a proper entree, so a side dish to me is usually a bunch of plum tomatoes, each cut in half.

I guess that’s why I love green beans so much. It really doesn’t get much easier than that! We’ve had them pretty often lately, not just because they’re tasty and good for you, but also because you can whip them up in no time. My husband was getting a little tired of them… so I had to figure out a way to amp them up without turning them into one of those complicated side dishes I try to avoid.

This recipe is perfect! You really don’t have to do much else than fry the sliced onion and you’re almost done. You heard me! Then you just sit back for a few minutes, with your glass of wine, while the green beans are cooking. Now, that’s my kinda recipe!

Roasted Garlic Ranch Chicken Bake And Mom’s Unusual Tastes

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, Campbell’s soups, casserole, chicken, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, green beans, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick pepper, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, Ranch chicken, recipe, Ritz crackers, Roasted Garlic Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, russet potatoes, Sara Lee, Sargento, skinless chicken breasts, slow cooker, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

Mom loves salad dressings. She loves them so much that she puts them in anything. If I’m addicted to cheese, she’s addicted to them. I swear I saw her use the Thousand Island dressing on bread and with peanut butter. How weird is that? But I guess this is the reason why she is able to come up with a lot of recipes that taste really good—with her experimenting with tastes like this. I remember one time when she used caesar dressing in marinading chicken breasts just because she’s tired of using the usual marinade. It tasted delicious, albeit a bit weirdly at first. It tasted nutty.

This recipe over at Southern Bite reminds me of my Mom’s weird kitchen ideas; those experiments that have gone right. This roasted garlic ranch chicken bake recipe uses ranch dressing to create a really scrumptious meal from chicken and potatoes. The philosophy behind this accidental dish is similar to a dump cake. The ingredients are put together in a dish without the cook doing some kind of mixing. They just all come together in the end, resulting to one perfect dish that everyone will love.

I look forward to Thanksgiving year round because of the food. Yes, I am also grateful for many things, but I do not think I am the only one who looks forward to this awesome day because of the amazing food. There are so many dishes that I only get to enjoy once a year on this day so I always love to be extra hungry to make sure I get a chance to enjoy them all. It is hard, though, because there is just too much food and I cannot keep up.

That is when I realized, why do I have to wait until Thanksgiving to enjoy this all? I can make little dishes here and there throughout the year to enjoy the deliciousness of Thanksgiving. Some would say that spoils Thanksgiving, but not for me. I would still be just as excited to eat this on Thanksgiving. Now I know Thanksgiving dishes take a while to whip up, which is why the one I am sharing today is a crock pot meal! It is easy to throw together and becomes a delicious meal all in one bowl. It is the perfect reminder of the holidays, while still being a wonderful weeknight meal for the whole family.

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, Campbell’s soups, casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, green beans, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, kielbasa sausage, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, potatoes, Powdered sugar, recipe, Ritz crackers, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, smoked sausage, Swanson chicken broth, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

I am not a veggie person. Never have been, and I never will. At least I think I will not, anyways. Well, my husband is. He loves a good hearty serving of veggies with every meal I serve. Pasta? He wants some broccoli. Mashed potatoes? He wants some corn. Burgers? He wants a good side salad. Anything I can make, he wants a side of veggies with.

That is why I learned to put together dishes that require veggies to be put together with the meat immediately and all cooked at once. It saves me time and makes less mess and I absolutely love how easy it is to put together. My husband really loves dishes like this, too. If he had to choose, all his meals would be one pot meals where all the food is mixed together into one big hearty mess! That is his cup of tea, and still not mine, but I will make it for him often. I have grown to like dishes like these, thanks to recipes like the one I am sharing with you today. I love that it is a big pot of veggies with meat. It is easy and delicious.

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, canned vegetables, casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, dilly beans, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, green beans, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, preserved, recipe, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

Looking out my backyard window, I am impressed to see how much my garden has flourished in such a short amount of time. Soon, it’ll be time to harvest the green beans, and there are many. Whatever will I do with such a generous amount of the long, crunchy vegetables? Make dilly, beans of course!

For a long time, I was only preserving my green beans as-is. Meaning, I was canning them in a non-acidic solution and creating just a regular low-sodium canned preserved green bean. Then, i stumbled across this recipe and my whole world changed in terms of canning green beans. Dilly beans are packed full of robust garlic and dill flavor and taste amazing when cracked open in the dead of winter. Nothing like being reminded of your summer harvest when the snow is falling.
