Ahh, finally! I have finally found the perfect, old-fashioned marble cake recipe!
You have no idea how long I have been searching for this. And I almost can’t believe my search is over! I am crazy about marble cakes. Ever since I was a kid, I remember always choosing a slice of marble cake over lemon pound cake. Or, if possible, I had a slice of both! I also drank coffee with my cake but don’t tell my mother that as I wasn’t allowed to drink coffee. LOL I am a coffee fanatic and always have been.
In my family, we always made three types of cake whenever there was a party or a family gathering. Lemon cake, marble cake and spice cake – if one of them was missing, it wasn’t a party!
Later on, I grew to like the spice cake the most, but recently I’ve found myself falling in love with marble cake again. That’s why I was trying so hard to find a great recipe! And you know what they say; old-fashioned recipes are ALWAYS the best ones – just like this one.
