I am a HUGE fan of bread. Any kind of bread will set my soul on fire with hunger pains. I love white, wheat, rye, rolls, biscuits, and best of all: homemade Amish sweet bread. The first time I had this bread was when I was passing through Lancaster County, PA. I stopped at an Amish pie shop and ended up leaving with four loaves of bread. And guess how long those loaves of bread lasted in my house? Not even 5 days!

After my bread was gone, I was a little downtrodden. I really liked that bread! So, you can imagine my delight when I found this helpful little recipe for Amish sweet bread! And guess what, folks? It’s super easy to make! If you can knead dough for at least 10 minutes, you can make this wonderful bread and have it turn out like you’re a professional baker. I have gotten so good at making bread I think i should open up my own bakery. Okay, maybe that is pushing the envelope a little haha!

Growing up, my mom used to always make pasta dishes for lunch.  My siblings and I were homeschooled, so we ate at home every day and my mom needed fast, yet filling lunches to be ready within an hour so we could get back to work.  One of her go-to dishes was this Chicken Tetrazzini.  She loved how versatile it was and her favorite part: all the kids loved it. My husband loved it, too! He actually took some leftovers to work with him and his co-workers wanted to eat some!

This is a recipe that can be prepared in advance and then cooked at the time you’re ready to eat.  My mom would often prep this meal the night before and leave it in the fridge overnight.  Then, about an hour before we were ready to eat, she would pop it in the oven and then didn’t have to worry about it again.  It was definitely a convenient meal.

Are You Interested In Eating The Best Darn Pot Roast This Side Of The Mississippi?

One of my most favorite meals that I can recall when I was growing up is a beef roast. My mother would always make pot roast for our Sunday dinner after church. I loved how you could smell the roast cooking from outside of the house. I can think of the many times that I knew mom had a roast cooking in the oven while we were at church and my stomach would just rumble. She would add carrots and potatoes to the roaster pan. Those carrots were my favorite!

I have made roasts many ways, myself, especially just like my mother’s. However, I find that the slow cooker method is the best. The beef comes out tender and juicy and really flavorful.

Set it and forget it meals are my favorite kind of recipes because you can literally do just that. You don’t have to worry about watching an oven or stove top. The crock Pot cooks this beef roast and vegetables to perfection. Enjoy!

Quick Tip: If you don’t want to cook this beef roast in the slow cooker simply cook it on the stovetop in a stockpot with lots of water.

It’s taco casserole night!

When it comes to Mexican food I am all in. I love chowing down on spicy beef or chicken, cheese, salsa, and sour cream. I think Mexican food is one of my favorite cuisines, hands down. I am a huge fan of tacos. I like how you can dress them up in any condiments that you want, especially guacamole sauce. Yum! However, tacos don’t always hits the spot and sometimes, especially my husband, need some extra oomph. That’s why this taco casserole is so amazing. It is a heavy meal that definitely won’t leave you feeling hungry.

I like how easy this taco casserole recipe is to throw together. It really doesn’t take much time at all. Plus, you get to include all of your favorite Mexican seasonings, toppings, and taco chips! Yum! I think of taco casserole like a party in a pan. My entire family enjoys this dish. I serve it with refried beans and Spanish rice to make a complete meal out of it. I hope you’ll give it a try sometime soon 🙂

Also, if you are needing a dish to pass at a family gathering or potluck event this casserole is a wonderful option to take with you. It’s chock full of the good stuff that everyone loves! Seriously, give it a try and see for yourself. Everyone always chows down on this casserole in mass quantities. You’ll be impressed and so will they.

The other day my daughter and I were trying to think of something yummy for dinner. Surprisingly, we decided on this yummy chicken leg recipe. I say surprisingly because typically when I bring a kid into the mix of dinner decision making I get requests for pizza, mac and cheese, and donuts. LOL However, my girl saw this recipe and thought it would be tasty and easy to make. it was both! So, we got the ingredients that we needed and got to work. I love it when my daughter helps me cook 🙂

We ended up making mashed potatoes, green beans, and a frozen apple pie with these chicken legs. The savory sauce worked as a gravy for the mashed potatoes. My husband and boys really enjoyed eating this meal, too. My boys always enjoy eating chicken legs because they are easy to handle. Will you be making these baked chicken legs for your family? Let me know in the comments how they turn out. I always enjoy hearing from you guys.

If you are a fan of chicken and parmesan recipes this one is for you! I’ve never in my life made a chicken parmesan meal that was so simple to make. You would think that this chicken parmesan came from an Italian restaurant. But, guess what? Anyone can make this dish because it is super easy to put together. I used very basic ingredients in this recipe and most of them I already had in my pantry. i think the only thing i actually needed to buy was the parmesan cheese. I always keep chicken breasts in my freezer.

I like to serve this chicken parmesan with garlic bread and a side salad with Italian dressing. You might want to make some steamed veggies such as broccoli to go with the meal. The great thing about chicken parmesan is how versatile it is in terms of side dishes. When I made it we has apple pie for dessert. Yum!
