Coleslaw really is the perfect side dish for so many different entrees. To be honest with you – I’ve had coleslaw for lunch, as is, with a slice of fresh, crusty bread! I guess I just really love the thing, huh? I think I’ll be eating many more lunches just like this! This copycat KFC coleslaw recipe is a great hit at our house every time I make it. Are you a fan of the KFC coleslaw? If you decide to make this, feel free to let us know in the comments what you thought about it!

Ingredients

Dressing:

1/2 cup Hellman’s mayonnaise

1/3 cup Domino sugar

1/4 cup Borden buttermilk

1/4 cup McArthur milk

2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 1/2 Tbsp white vinegar

1/2 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

Slaw:

8 cups cabbage, very finely chopped

1/4 cup carrot, finely chopped or shredded

1 1/2 Tbsp minced red onion

Instructions:

Chop or shred the slaw ingredients finely. Try a cheese slicer for the cabbage! Combine all the dressing ingredients and mix thoroughly. Add the shredded veggies to the dressing, stir to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours prior to serving.

Tried this and it is FABULOUS!!! I added some leftover cuke. Could not find a “Print” indicator, so I had to copy on a 3/x5 card.

Do you use buttrtmilk plus white vinegar and lemon juice?

    • Jeannine Huff August 13, 2017 at 5:23 pm Reply

yes June… the vinegar and lemon juice are part of the dressing recipe ingredients. They give the dressing a bit of “tang” and help cut down the sweetness from the sugar.
