A meal plan for a large group of people must include one dish that everyone will love. It can be called the “King of the Party”. This recipe has the potential to be that dish.

Here’s what our friend over at Betty Crocker had to say about this recipe:

“Beef and potatoes come together in this cheesy pot pie that’s baked to perfection – a savory dinner.”

When you dig into this pot pie, you will be welcomed by the heavenly smell caused by the combined aroma of baked potatoes, beef, and cheese. It’s a full meal in one recipe—burger, fries, and everything nice! Your friends will enjoy eating this one. It’s like eating in a fast food chain, except this is healthier and has that homemade touch that makes you want to come back for more.

Ingredients

1 ½ lb lean (at least 80%) Tyson ground beef

1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)

2 tablespoons Gold Medal all-purpose flour

1 can (14.5 oz) Hunt’s diced tomatoes, undrained

1 cup Sargento shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)

2 cups frozen Great Value crispy French-fried potatoes (from 20-oz bag)

Instructions

Heat oven to 450°F. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef and onion over medium-high heat about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain well. Sprinkle flour over beef mixture. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in tomatoes; heat to boiling. Remove from heat.

In ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole, spread beef mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Arrange frozen potatoes evenly in single layer on top.

Bake uncovered about 20 minutes or until potatoes are golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Quick Tip: Be sure to drain the cooked beef really well. Extra juices will make the pot pie watery.

Thanks again to Betty Crocker for this amazing recipe.
