A Slow Cooker Chicken Meal So Simple It’s Stupid!

The other day, I found myself neck deep in projects that needed to get done. I had gotten up at 4am to get started. By the time 6am had rolled around it was time to get the kids up for school and it was then that I realized I had nothing planned for dinner when they arrived back home off the bus. So, between coaxing sleepy children out of bed, getting backpacks sorted, and finding mismatched socks, I got out the trusty old Crock Pot and got to work. I really shouldn’t refer to this recipe as “work” because it is so simple that it’s stupid!

Seriously, all you do is chop up some chicken breasts and throw them in the slow cooker with a few other ingredients and then in about 7 hours you have a delicious, hot, and satisfying meal. Can it really be that simple? Yes! My husband and kids really liked this slow cooker chicken casserole and I served it with green beans and rolls. My little guy insisted that we each have a scoop of homemade applesauce so we included some onto our plates, too. It was a great meal!

I enjoy making my husband and kids a hot breakfast from time to time. I don’t always have time to make these types of meals in the morning but when I do I make sure I do it up royal. I was thinking about making hot biscuits and gravy the other day because this is a dish my entire family enjoys. However, I wanted to try something a bit out of the ordinary so I made sausage gravy stuffed biscuits instead. You may be scratching your head in disbelief right now trying to figure out what the hang those are. Never feel, I shall tell you!

So basically, sausage gravy stuffed biscuits are the same thing as the classic meal it’s just that the concept is a bit different. Instead of spooning the yummy gravy over the top of the biscuits the good stuff will be stuffed inside of them instead. I find this version of biscuits and gravy to be less of a mess, too. Ya wanna know something else? You can take these yummy biscuits on the go if you have to. Just make sure you wrap it in a few napkins, first. Isn’t that cool? Enjoy!

Cheeseburger casserole is one of those go-to dinners that every busy mom should have in her recipe box. It’s easy to make and very filling. Plus, cheeseburger casserole is quite kid-friendly and husbands tend to enjoy it, too. I like this casserole because you can add all the condiments to it that you would add to a traditional burger on a bun. We like to, of course, eat it with mustard and ketchup but also with chopped dill pickles, onions, and even jalapenos. Cheeseburger casserole is the perfect weeknight meal!

See what our pals at Recipe Lion say:

Just like the name suggests, one serving of this meaty casserole and you’ll be wanting more. “More Please!” Cheeseburger Casserole is made with all the ingredients of a cheeseburger, but is much easier to prepare. Everything you love about cheeseburgers goes into this ground beef casserole, including ketchup, mustard, and even sesame seeds. A layer of Bisquick is poured over the ground beef mixture, and the whole thing is baked until hot and bubbly.

Who ever knew that pasta could be used in a dessert-type salad? The Acini De Pepe pasta is what gives this salad it’s “frog-eye” appearance and it couldn’t be any more fun to eat! Sorry to all of you who thought that this dessert actually contained slimy frog eyes. What kind of person do you think i am? A maniac? LOL  Anyway, my kids totally love this stuff and I think it is partially due to the salad’s funny name. Who wouldn’t want to go back to school after Christmas vacation and tell the class that your mom made you eat frog eye salad for the big holiday dinner?

Check it out:

Mom’s Frog Eye Salad is one of those recipes that will stay in your family for years and be requested at every social gathering. It’s an easy dessert salad recipe that includes Acini De Pepe pasta, pineapple, mandarin oranges, marshmallows, coconut, Cool Whip and more! You’ll love how simple it is to make and its creamy, cool, tropical taste. This easy dessert recipe is perfect for when you need to feed a crowd.

What a delicious dessert!

The other day, my dear friend Sally came trotting over to my house. She always cuts across the neighbor’s lawn and makes their dog bark like a lunatic so I know old Sal is on her way before I even see her. One might find this to be annoying but not me, I think it’s hilarious lol! Anyway, Sally had a small plate in her hand with something yummy wrapped up on it. She had brought me a dessert! Yeah! I took a bite and was instantly in heaven. Sally said the masterpiece was called “pineapple delight” and it definitely was delightful!

My friends over at Recipe Lion had this to say:

If you call yourself a pineapple lover, you have got to try this chilled dessert recipe. Pineapple Delight Dessert is a creamy tropical dessert recipe with a graham cracker crust, buttery filling, and pineapple studded Cool Whip on top. The layers in this dessert come together to make one delightful warm weather dessert everyone will love! Plus, it’s super easy to make, so it’s perfect for when you want a quick sweet treat.

Fun Fact: Legend has it that candy canes were invented in 1670, when the choirmaster of the Cologne Cathedral commissioned candies shaped like a shepherd’s crook so they could be handed out to children attending the church’s crèche scene in order to keep them quiet. The stripes came later.

I love Hostess snack cakes, but I rarely buy them because I’d eat way too many at once. I swear when it comes to snack foods I have no self-control. it’s ridiculous! Do you any of you suffer from snackitis like I do? If so, how do you combat this problem? I tried sticking my head in the oven once but there was a cake in there. LOL! Just kidding, but really, there probably was a cake in there because I’m always baking something, like this Ho Ho cake. You guys are going to love this recipe because it brings your favorite Hostess snack cakes to life!

This cake is so good! It’s just like biting into a Ho Ho. It combines chocolate and a decadent cream filling that totally tantalizes your taste buds. You’ll be over the moon after just one bite. I made this Ho Ho cake for my brother in law’s work promotion party. He’s a farmer and works for a major corporation and they gave him charge over his own fields and crew. It’s a pretty big deal, so naturally, we had to celebrate with an amazing cake.
