My husband and his family are big ham eaters so that’s what we make during the Christmas holiday. I’ve made many a brine for my holiday hams but none have ever been this yummy. You are left with a tender, juicy cut of ham that really makes your heart and tummy smile. One year, I soaked my ham in a brine made with maraschino cherry juice and it turned the meat bright pink. I was horrified as everyone thought the darn thing was raw. Ugh! On a positive note, it did taste super amazing 🙂
The pineapple in this recipe really gives the ham a robust flavor. I think it is because it’s crushed and not chunked. The flavor is truly amazing and I will be making this recipe year after year. You might think there is a lot of sugar in this glaze but don’t worry as most of the syrup settles to the bottom of the pan. However, you’ll have to watch your children because if they are anything like mine they will be digging the sugary yumminess out with their spoons to eat straight lol!
