You really don’t have to be an experienced baker to make this lovely dessert. Just bake a store bought pie shell according to package directions and you’re already halfway through!

The secret ingredient of this recipe is definitely the ginger ale. That little bit of a kick goes perfectly with the sweet strawberries, and it takes the flavors to the next level. And if you want to double the deliciousness, you could add in a mixture of your favorite berries. I’ve tried this pie with a combination of strawberries and peach slices – it turned out amazing!

Ingredients

1 (9-in) ready-to-bake deep-dish pie shell, thawed

1 (4-serving) package strawberry flavored gelatin

1/2 c Domino sugar

3 Tbsp Argo cornstarch

3/4 c ginger ale

1 qt fresh strawberries, hulled and cut in half

Instructions:

Bake pie shell according to package directions; set aside to cool.

In a medium saucepan, combine remaining ingredients, (except strawberries) over medium heat. Cook 5 to 7 minutes or until gelatin has dissolved and mixture is clear, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and let cool about 5 minutes. Stir in strawberries then pour into baked pie shell.

Chill at least 4 hours or until set. Serve, or cover and keep chilled until ready to serve. Top with Cool Whip if desired.
