What a Great Way To Start Your Day!

I promised my kids all year long that if they got straight As on their report cards, they could pick anywhere in the country to go on vacation over the summer.

They had to agree on the place though, because I wasn’t going to three different destinations. I know that they had been working hard all year, and they had succeeded in the goal so far. I had overheard them talking about the different places that they wanted to go from time to time. Mainly that happened when a fresh report card was about to come out. Most of the time they just worried about getting the work done.

Well, their final report card came in, and much to my delight, they all had straight As again. Four straight marking periods, all As. I was so proud of them. We sat down at dinner that night and asked where they wanted to spend their long weekend vacation at. The picked….drum roll please…. Grandma’s house!

Who would have thought that? Not me. She lived three states over in a beautiful house with a pool and all kinds of stuff to do so I guess it made sense. We packed up our bags later in the month and headed in her direction. I was happy to see on our first morning there, this yummy brunch casserole waiting for us at the table.
