This is my idea of a perfect day: curling up on the swing at the back porch with a thick book in hand (preferably a fantasy novel that will bring me to another world). The sky is bright, but the sun is hiding somewhere so it’s not glaring at me. There is a light cool breeze that breathes, making you relax further while you enjoy reading the book. And of course, a little table by the swing with a cup of tea or coffee (depending on my mood that day) and a little sweet treat that’s not too overwhelming. Something that’s just perfect for a relaxing day in the house.
This almond cream cheese danish is a recipe that fits that category. If you think about it, it’s simpler than a cake but it will still give you the same satisfaction any sweet cake will bring. I love desserts that refresh you and just makes you feel really happy.
And since this dessert is not too sweet, full of almonds, and is perfect with coffee, I am hooked the moment I took the first bite. I am sure you will love this too, which is why I am sharing with you this recipe on the next page. Enjoy!
