My husband and I have a thing for strawberries.
Yep, it is a bit strange, but we love to snack on these, incorporate them in as many meals as we can and eat them in all sorts of ways. We love them covered in chocolate, with a layer of coconut over the top or chopped over a chocolate lava cake. I mean really, strawberries add that tang that is missing from most overly sweet desserts. Have I mentioned how good a few chopped strawberries is over homemade crème Brule? Let’s just say you have got to try it as soon as possible!
Well, our love for strawberries goes as far back as before our wedding. Yep, years and years ago when we were sitting around deciding the things for our simple wedding, we knew one thing from the get-go: strawberry cake. Yessiree! We did not go with the classic rum cake that was in style at the time, or a vanilla or chocolate.
I think we were the only one of our friends who strayed so much from flavors, but we loved it because it was delicious. Since then, we continue to love strawberry cake and eat it whenever we possibly can!
