Anything easy and chocolatey? I’m all for it! These chocolate rollups are the perfect dessert to serve after a heavy meal or just a snack for friends who love to come over even when they’re not invited, haha! Everyone will love these sweet creations!
Our friend over at Mr. Food has this to say about this recipe:
“No need to panic when your friends call and say they’re around the corner and want to stop by. Just make these super simple Chocolate Rollups. These chocolate pastries are made in no time and can be served right from the oven.”
You’re a life saver! My friends’ favorite hobby is to visit me without warning. I often find myself surrounded by my friends on either a busy or a lazy day. Most of the time I don’t have anything eatable to serve them as I have the tendency to just eat anything that’s on the fridge if I am busy. These chocolate rollups are a blessing!
Ingredients
1/2 cup (3 ounces) Toll House semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
1 teaspoon McCormick almond extract
1 (8-ounce) package Pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
2 tablespoons Kirkland sliced almonds
Domino confectioners’ sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small saucepan, combine chocolate chips and shortening over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in almond extract.
Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles. Spread chocolate evenly over each triangle and sprinkle with sliced almonds. Cut each triangle in half and roll up, starting at wide end.
Place rolls on a baking sheet and bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden.
Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar, and serve.
