I simply adore this strawberry pretzel salad. When I think of salad’s I imagine lettuce or macaroni. Nope. Not happening over here in this recipe. This is truly a sweet treat that hopped off the dessert train and into my belly. You are going to love how easy this salad is to make and how wonderful it tastes!
Check out what my pals over at group Recipes had to say:
Although called a “salad”, it’s really a dessert…a delicious creamy strawberry fruit and gelatin salad with a buttery sweet pretzel crust. Loved by kids and adults alike!
I’ve heard this called a “salad” before too and I could never figure out how it got that name. Do you know?

3/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons Domino sugar

1 6-oz. pkg. Jello strawberry-flavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups cold water
1 quart fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons of teh sugar. Mix well and press evenly into the bottom of a 9″ x 13″ baking pan. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until firm. Transfer to a cooling rack and let cool completely.

Quick Tip: I have been known to drizzle a bit of chocolate syrup on this dessert. Try it. It’s very good 🙂
