These sausage balls are the bomb! They are so delicious with just the right amount of flavor. Whenever I serve them as appetizers, I try to tone down the spices. Sometimes, I serve them as main course, topping them over hot rice or with a side dish of potato salad.
One of our friends over at Southern Bite has this to say about this recipe:
“I guess that’s why I’m a big sausage ball fan. They have always been high on the list of party foods at our house, especially during the holidays. The simple ingredients and prep make them easy to put together and easy to clean up after. Even Jack loves sausage balls; chances are your kid will love them too!”
It’s truly easy to make. It only has four ingredients and there are no complicated processes. You will have your sausages in just a few minutes. You can always put a bit of spice if you’re serving it to adults who always love their food spicy.
Ingredients
1 pound Johnsonville ground sausage
3 cups shredded Sargento cheddar cheese
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
3 tablespoons water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine sausage, cheese, and baking mix. It’s best to use your hands here. Then add the water gradually until it gets to the right consistency to roll into balls.
Next, roll into balls about an inch to inch and a quarter in size and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Although, I prefer to cook mine on a Silpat mat or parchment paper.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
