This recipe is one of those easy recipes.  You know, this is not an actual cake recipe that you measure out the flour and sugar and all…instead, you just need a box of chocolate cake mix and a box of fudge brownie mix.  With these two boxes and the ingredients necessary to make those boxed treats, you have a homemade cake that tastes better than anything you could buy out at the supermarket.  Give it at try and you will see what I mean!

Check out what our friends over at Love Foodies had to say about this:

“Nanny’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Cake is a keeper recipe! Easy to make and perfect for chocolate lover’s. This is also freezer friendly if you wanted to make in to portions or make ahead for a party!”

I have frozen this cake, too and still tastes marvelously after it thaws.  Try it out and you will see how much your family loves it!

Ingredients

1 box Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix

1 box Duncan Hines fudge brownie mix

4 eggs

1 1/4 cups water

1 cup oil

1 can Pillsbury chocolate fudge cake icing

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and lightly flour an 8 – 9 inch bundt pan ( I use Baker’s Joy spray).

  1. In a bowl add the cake mix, brownie mix, oil eggs and water. Pour into bundt pan and bake 50-55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

NOTE*** Do NOT use the ingredients on the brownie mix and cake mix, just what is listed above

Quick Tip: Make sure only to use ingredients specified in directions, not those on the box

What do you do with the frosting? Do you melt it and pour over cake?
