Apples are the type of fruits that we eat all year because they make really good desserts.

We keep a bunch of apples in the kitchen all the time; both for munching and snacking in between meals, and also to use for desserts. I love them more when they’re coated in sugar because I have had my fill of apples when I was a kid. I think I kind of stopped being too fond of them after that. But it doesn’t mean I don’t like them anymore. In fact, I still love them.

At home, our favorite apple recipe is apple pie, the kind of pie that my husband and I grew up eating in our childhood homes. But since that takes a bit of time to make, I usually settle for apple cobbler. It’s quite similar but not quite, but it temporarily satisfies the craving. We usually eat apple cobbler with a serving of vanilla ice cream. We really love rich desserts. We enjoy them more if they’re creamier or tastier.

This apple cobbler with crescent roll topping recipe from Cook The Story is a simple apple cobbler recipe that will be loved by anyone. If you want a copy of this, head on over to the next page!

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, Campbell’s soups, casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, fisher nuts, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, Kerrygold butter, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, quinoa casserole, recipe, Ritz crackers, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

My husband loves quinoa. He had undergone a diet a few months ago in relation to work (and I couldn’t understand because he’s not fat and he’s healthy as a horse), and quinoa was one of those he’s been eating the whole dieting months.

Quinoa is an acquired taste for me. When I first tasted it, I was a bit uncomfortable with its texture on my mouth. But once I got used to eating it also became a favorite of mine. Our sons didn’t like it though. So every time I cook something with quinoa on it, I had to cook a separate dish for my sons.

While they would try to eat it, they wouldn’t even finish the little serving on their plate. And they’re growing boys so they need all the nutrients they can get. Maybe when they got older, they would appreciate the taste of quinoa. But for now, my husband and I will be the ones to enjoy the dishes involving these ingredients.

This quinoa casserole which I got from Jessica In The Kitchen is truly an amazing dish! I would definitely have my sons try this because it’s a bit different than most dishes I cook. The texture of the quinoa is masked because of the combination of the other ingredients.

I am pretty sure my boys will love this too. If you want a copy of this recipe, you can find it on the next page!

Back when you were a kid, what got your attention easily? As I came from a family of good cooks, it’s obvious that my answer is food.

I remember that my Mom always distracted me and my brother from doing something not good by offering food. Like for example when we always almost got into fights, my Mom would always call for us just in the nick of time. She would say, “go home now and eat your dessert”; and my brother and I would follow her. We would totally forget about the fight.

A few nights ago, my sister-in-law delivered my little niece and my nephew straight to our doorstep. My husband and I offered to look after them while they took a night off. Those two are so hardworking they deserve at least one night every week. My husband was always playful. So while my niece was propped on her high chair in the kitchen with me, he was playing with the boys in the living room. It felt good to hear them just having a good time.

I decided to make them this simple dessert that guaranteed to make them smile.

I served this recipe to them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. They all loved it!

I woke up one day just craving for Salisbury steak.

The first words I told my husband when he entered the kitchen was, “I want Salisbury steak for dinner”. And he knew that I have a craving. Whenever I start with this craving, I have to have that particular food or else I will be in a somber mood all day. So after my husband left for work (he had that knowing look on his face), I got myself and my kids dressed, and drove to the grocery to get the items I still lacked.

That night, we had the most amazing Salisbury steak dinner with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The Salisbury steak recipe I have on hand is the perfect match to Mom’s mashed potatoes recipe. All in all, it has been a satisfying dinner for all of us. Just recently, I served another Salisbury steak recipe to my family. But this time, it has a different twist to it, which they loved nevertheless. It’s Salisbury steak in a casserole.

Trying that recipe paid off! My family fell in love with the dish instantly. Everything just goes so well together in the casserole, creating a perfect dish that everyone will surely appreciate.

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, Campbell’s soups, casserole, cheesy tuna casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, fisher nuts, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, Kerrygold butter, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, recipe, Ritz crackers, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

My sons have taken a bit of an interest in a particular sport lately. One of their uncles from my husband’s side of the family gifted them a mini basketball set.

It’s about half as tall as me so it’s not that… er… tall. My husband is actually a bit disappointed that they seem to be more interested in basketball than in baseball, but the way the kids watch baseball with their dad, I don’t think he will have problems about that. Since it’s still a bit too cold outside for outdoor sports, the father and the sons always turn the living room into a makeshift basketball arena.

My husband is responsible enough to make sure our vases are hidden before they start making a mess of the living room. And that’s what’s most important; I don’t want the kids to get hurt. One time, while they were busy becoming MJ, Shaq, and Kobe, I was at the kitchen trying to become an acceptable version of Martha Stewart.

I was making them this tuna casserole that was so tasty I had to stop myself from eating in advance. This was a freezer meal version, so I was just waiting for it to bake. But the enticing smell got to my family. They were in the kitchen even before it was fully cooked. Food truly is more important than anything else.

A few days ago, a cousin of mine visited and stayed for a while along with her 9-year-old daughter.

Her job brings her everywhere, and this includes out-of-the-state and out-of-the-country places. She and her husband both have demanding jobs and they rarely see their little girl anymore. Whenever she has the opportunity to bring her daughter with her, she always takes it.For the week that they were with us, I was the one who took care of my niece. She’s a behaved young girl and is quite the bookworm. So give her a book and she’s all settled.

It’s quite nice to watch her and my sons doing different things, but staying together at one side of the living room. They were all behaving and just doing their own things. I decided to reward them by baking them a cake that they could eat for their afternoon snack. I decided on a simple pound cake since it was a weekday and I didn’t have much time to bake something complicated. It’s a recipe that I found over at Marie’s Cuisine. It’s made with cream cheese and vanilla bean.

They all loved the cake, even asking for another slice. They said it doesn’t taste so sweet and it’s so moist! They ate theirs with a cup of milk, while I ate mine with a cup of coffee.

Soup warms the heart and warms the soul. It’s a common saying that seems to be really true based on experience.

Whenever we eat soup, there’s just that homey feeling of comfort that it brings us. I love the warmth caused by soup. It reminds me of those evenings with the family when I was just a kid. My Mom would cook us soup for supper, and we would it along with her homemade bread that just tasted so moist and soft. Yes, definitely good times!

I always serve soup for my family even if it’s summer. I mean sure, it’s too hot for summer, but the comfort it brings transcends seasonal boundaries. You can always enjoy soup all year round. My husband loves strong-flavored soups. Most of the time, he wants them fiery hot and thick. However, to suit the taste of everyone, we had to cut down on the spice.

Our kids love soup so much. Even if they eat the soup a bit messily, it shows on their faces how much they love it. Soup is always on my menu even if we have another main dish. This stuffed pepper soup is a favorite of my husband. Its’ strong-flavored and at the same time there’s that taste of comfort that makes it homey.
