My twin boys are not really that picky. While it’s true that they don’t finish all of the vegetables on their plate, they eat them. They actually enjoy eating them. They just get easily “tired” of eating the same thing, but that also applies to any meat they eat. However, I found out that my sons will eat anything that has a “perfectly balanced” taste. What I mean by perfectly balanced is that, there are a couple of extreme flavors going on in the dish, but they blend so well together that they taste absolutely divine. A good example is this apricot pork loin recipe.

Pork is already naturally flavorful. Add the taste of the apricot and the savory flavor of pork will be touched by the sweet flavor of apricots. The sweetness balances the too rich flavor of the pork, making it taste just right. The freshness brought by the apricot is the kick that everyone will truly enjoy in such a kind of recipe. My sons’ plates were empty right after dinner. And that rarely happens! I was too happy I fed them with two cookies each instead of one for their dessert. It’s good to reward them once in a while.

Who loves making breakfast casseroles? I do! I love making them because other than the fact that they save me sometime most especially when I have to deal with two adorable grumpy kids in the morning and one playful husband who teases them. I swear I need to stop him from doing that. He just loves teasing Chiyo and Calvin in the morning when they actually got the morning grumpiness from him. So anyway, this little family of four loves eating breakfast casseroles just because you can put anything in the casserole that you know your family will love so it will surely be a hit!

My cinnamon roll casserole recipe came from my own mom. When I was a kid, she told me I love cinnamon so much I almost sold our house just to get a box of it. I didn’t want to ask how that happened because I am sure it will embarrass me, but you get the drift. Because of my cinnamon addiction, my mom made a recipe out of grandmother’s cinnamon roll recipe. My husband loves having these in the morning because of the sugar rush. It’s also good with his morning coffee and you can actually see how coffee and sugar can brighten up his day. My sons love these too. I just always make sure they don’t really stuff themselves too much because it’s sweet. A copy of the recipe for this sweet breakfast casserole can be found on the next page!

I almost lost a friendship a couple of weeks ago because I forgot that I was supposed to attend a potluck. Okay, so maybe “losing a friendship” is something a bit grave. But Susan wouldn’t have talked to me a for a week if I wasn’t able to attend her potluck. I promised pasta, but I was too busy the whole week I wasn’t able to think of the perfect pasta to bring.

I knew I had to bring something that everyone would love. That’s the point in potlucks. You have to take into consideration everyone who’s coming, if not all. At least most of them should at least like what you’re going to bring or else yours will be the only dish not empty by the end of the day.

I found this no-fuss pork chop casserole recipe when I was desperately searching for the meal that’s easy to prepare and easy to bring. This is truly no fuss! I even had time to help my sons with their assignments before the baby sitter arrived to take over. I didn’t like leaving my sons, but there are times I just can’t say no to friends. I rarely see them too, so when they invite me for dinners, I usually come. I will be sharing this pork chop recipe with you in the next page so you can see for yourself how easy this delicious casserole is!

We are very close with our families. My husband and I both grew up in families who value blood ties more than anything in the world. He became a bit independent earlier than me though because he’s been working hard since his teenage years while my parents wanted me and my brother to concentrate on our high school studies so I started with part-time jobs while I was in college. We met in college and we started out as friends, part of the same caboodle. When we were just friends, I already met his Aunt Luna. She’s his coolest aunt. Cool in a way because she’s so liberated and she always tried so hard to understand the younger generation.

Now that we’re married, Aunt Luna is a constant visitor in our house. Whenever she visits, she always cooks for us. She also makes sure that she always teaches me a new recipe so that I can add it to my list of recipes that I cook for my family. One of the things she recently taught me was this crockpot chicken recipe. It’s easy to make and it’s very tasty too. It has cream on it, chicken, and rice. It’s a complete meal in one pot! When she cooked it for us, my sons and my husband loved it. So I added this recipe to my everyday choices. You can find a list of the ingredients and instructions on the next page. Enjoy this recipe!

Becca is one of my friends who loves to join baking contests. No, she doesn’t join the big ones that require an appearance in the media, but she loves to join those that’s just being held in communities or even schools. She loves to bake. Since she is a full-time housewife and mom, she is able to practice a lot in her kitchen. One time, there was a “Mom and Me” program at the school of her daughter. I was there to support her because well, as a friend, I have to. Other than that, I was the one who convinced her to join because it’s my friend who organized it. She was one of the PTA members and asked me if I have friends who could join.

Becca was one of the underdogs during the contest. While the others were making cakes, she was simply making a loaf. But at the end of the day, she won first prize and her daughter looked really proud beside her. When asked by the others who were congratulating her, she simply told them to have a slice of the loaf. One taste and we all knew what made her won. Even with all the fancy cakes, hers stood out because of the theme. It’s “Mom and Me”. Moms usually make simple homemade treats every day that her family will enjoy. And that usually doesn’t involve fancy cakes for occasions.

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, Campbell’s soups, casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, clam chowder casserole, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, fisher nuts, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, Kerrygold butter, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, recipe, Ritz crackers, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

My husband and I love curling up on the couch in the living room during cold winter nights with a bowl of chowder each cupped between our hands. We each have a specialty chowder. I make really good corn chowder, while he makes the creamiest and tastiest clam chowder ever! We usually have a bit of time for ourselves when the kids are out like a light, and we usually spend them watching our favorite movies or playing video games.

He purchased this new but truly old model of a family computer just so we can play the classic Super Mario Bros and Load Runner. Both he and I are still kids at heart, with us still being a young couple, and we allow ourselves to regress back to our inner child for a few hours after the kids finally fell asleep.

This clam chowder recipe came as a surprise. My husband was just wondering what we can do with the usual clam chowder because he wanted something heavier that night. So what he did was, he made a clam chowder and added pasta on it before baking it in the oven. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it really tasted great! We had it with a bit of a salad on the side and crusty bread.

Mom’s Hearty Beer Bread Makes Everyone Happy!

Argo cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, barilla pasta, beer bread, Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, black pepper, Bob's Red Mill, Borden, brown sugar, Campbell’s soups, casserole, Chiquita, Clabber Girl, College Inn, Cool Whip, crock pot, Daisy sour cream, dessert, Dole, domino sugar, eat, Eggland's Best eggs, fisher nuts, food, Gold Medal flour, granulated sugar, Green Giant, Hershey, Hodgkin’s Mill, Jell-O, Jif peanut butter, Johnsonville, keebler, Kerrygold butter, kosher salt, Kraft, land o lakes butter, Libby, McCormick spices, Morton salt, Pam Cooking Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philadelphia cream cheese, Powdered sugar, recipe, Ritz crackers, Sara Lee, Sargento, slow cooker, Thorn Apple Valley, Toll House, TruMoo milk, tyson, vanilla, vanilla extract, Vlasic, Wesson vegetable oil, whipped topping

My family loves it whenever we visit my parents. My husband is every vocal when it comes to my mom’s cooking. He said he will absolutely say yes if my parents will ask us to live with them just so he can eat my mother’s cooking every day, which, he says, is better than me. I know he’s joking when it comes to the “live with them” part, but I am also sure he’s serious with regards to the “your mom’s cooking is better than yours”. I don’t begrudge him about that though. I admit it! My mother’s cooking is probably the best in the world. I am a bit biased, but aren’t we all when it comes to our mothers’ cooking?

We spent a week in my parents house after Christmas to celebrate the coming New year with them. Since it’s colder in my hometown more than where I live with my current family, we mostly had stew and soups. It didn’t matter. My family loved soups and stews because they’re tasty and easier to make than most meals that require a lot of time and effort in the kitchen. However, what made the meals at my mom’s more special was the homemade bread. Mom’s homemade breads are absolutely delicious and they never fail to put a smile to everyone’s faces. And they taste so good with soup and stews. This similar beer bread recipe that I will share with you is so good you could even eat them without anything!
