7 Dinner Casseroles, #7

I like how easy this taco casserole recipe is to throw together. It really doesn’t take much time at all. It is a heavy meal that definitely won’t leave you feeling hungry.

Plus, you get to include all of your favorite Mexican seasonings, toppings, and taco chips! Yum!

I think of taco casserole like a party in a pan. My entire family enjoys this dish. I serve it with refried beans and Spanish rice to make a complete meal out of it. I hope you’ll give it a try sometime soon!

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 can (15 oz) chili beans

1 can (8 oz) Hunt’s tomato sauce

2 tablespoons taco sauce

4 teaspoons McCormick chili powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or salt

1 tomato, chopped

2 cups tortilla chips

1 cup Daisy sour cream

1/2 cup sliced green onions with tops

1 cup Kraft cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

Cook beef and drain. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, taco sauce, chili powder and garlic powder. Heat to boiling. Place chips in ungreased 12x8x2-inch baking dish. Top with beef mixture. Spread with sour cream. Sprinkle with onions, tomatoes and cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 20-30 minutes or until hot. Arrange additional tortilla chips around edge of casserole. Serve with shredded lettuce, chili peppers and taco sauce, if desired.
