We made this cake exactly as the recipe instructed us to. It was quite delicious, chock full of nuts and with loads of apple pieces throughout. The next time we made it, we varied it a bit. We added raisins, took out half of the nuts and added a bit of nutmeg. It was just as good. The last time we made it, we added some cream to the sauce over the top and it was luscious like a glaze. Every single time I have made this goodness, it has turned out beautifully. I absolutely love having this every single day!

Ingredients
3 cup Gold Medal all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cup Domino sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups raw apples, peeled and chopped fine
Sauce:
1 cup packed Domino brown sugar (for sauce)
¼ cup McArthur milk (for sauce)
¾ cup Land O’ Lakes butter or margarine(1 -1/2 sticks) (for sauce)
Instructions
Mix oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, soda. Add to first mixture. Fold in pecans and apples. Bake in tube pan at 350 for 1 hour.
For the sauce, mix and cook ingredients 3 minutes after it begins to gently boil, stirring constantly. Pour over hot cake while cake is still in pan. Let cake cool completely before removing.
